It's not just you. I will never understand the humor in teasing.

OK, I have no clue how this thread transformed into discussion of the Obama/Romney debate but anyway... I think that barging in on two people discussing something, and taking over the conversation with just one of those people is, well, ill-mannered. The Queen, for example, would never do this. True...

I'm not a Mum, but I used to look after a toddler as a job. I took him to mother and baby groups and it was like a stereotypical school set up, with this hierarchy of mothers; the cool group, the queen bee mum, the losers etc. I didn't expect to fit in there, being male and only 18 at the time, but...

Ugh, I hate those groups! I tried joining MOPS (mothers of pre-schoolers) recently, and they forced us to play a "social bingo" game that lasted over an hour! I don't know how many times I said "I live in blah blah town, it's really nice there" 8O Instead, I just ended up enrolling my son in half-d...

Most moms aren't really interested in any in depth analysis, even when it pertains to their kids. Try bringing up shared experiences/milestones for conversation, and complementing their children. Are there any groups focusing on early education in your area? That might be a better fit for you than ...

I'm not sure where to put this post. Please move if it should be in the Parenting section (but if I understand correctly, that category is for parents of aspie kids..). Just wondering for the moms of babies or toddlers out there (and moms of older kids who remember way back when), how did you/do you...

I often miss social events because I'm a scatterbrain with a bad short-term memory, so I forget that it's taking place.

No, I don't think so.

I cannot abide seeing wild animals in captivity (even fish in a fishbowl or dolphins or orcas at Seaworld) or animals that are in distress or suffering. Also cannot bear to see children being harmed or mistreated. When I was pregnant, the issue of circumcision came up. I took one look at a video of ...

We don't know how attractive or not (physically and otherwise) you are, so it's kind of hard to give you an answer. You could be physically repulsive for all we know.

This has happened to me, especially when I was younger (grade school up to early twenties). I think people just found me kind of quirky and sometimes not so interesting. Often, the other (third) person had much much much more to say - I'm not a great talker if we are not talking about something I kn...

The US is pretty much the only country that takes free speech to such an extreme as 'fighting words' being routinely allowed, remember mainland European countries have holocaust denial laws and 'hate speech' laws which make any restrictions in the US look like a b***h in comparison. South Korea and...

Yep. But then again, I have done the same. I have, too, but in a different context. I regularly un-friend people who are not active users on FB and whose accounts are therefore at risk of getting hacked. I always send them a message beforehand telling them that for security reasons, I am unfriendin...

Well, that wasn't very nice of your boyfriend to say. For me, short hair is a necessity. I compulsively play with my hair if it's not short. Playing with my hair prevents me from getting things done, as I can literally sit for hours thinking while playing with my hair. It's a huge time waster, plus ...

I recently discovered that I had been unfriended and blocked by someone on FB. It made me really sad. Once again, I have somehow offended someone and I have no idea what I have done.
