I don't agree with this assertion about "invisible" males, either. As far as I know only one person in my past ever suspected / suggested that I was different in the ASD sense. A LOT of so-called friends and family told me that I was not normal , but they put it down to just being lazy / brainy / se... |

Cool. Thanks, I've also been reading up lately on sensitivity to electromagnetic fields in general since that's often listed as related to Asperger's with little additional information. |

I just got finished reading through quite a long paper examining the various crossovers between exposure to electrical technology and observations in ASD research. The last section has some very interesting recommendations, particularly that more research be done investigating the possibility that w... |

I just mean I was overstimulated and sort of crazed a lot of the time and obsessed/stressed about a lot of issues and ideas that I wouldn't normally have and can no longer relate to now that I'm not taking it. Initially it wasn't like that, because at first I was also taking Cymbalta which is quite ... |

Beware of trying to "diagnose" other people, no matter how many Tony Attwood books you own (they're not equivalent to a psychiatrical medical career). If you want to talk to other sufferers, do it with people who are diagnosed or self-identified. Suggesting to this person that she might have a chron... |

Me: "I don't want to have to claim for disability." Dr Ass: "Disability? I think you'd be hard pressed to convince anyone there's anything wrong with you." --- Dr Ass: (reading CT scan results confirming a broken disc after complaining of back pain for 2 years) "Congratulations! That back pain, you ... |

Count me in on that situation as well. I strongly resent having "bipolar affective disorder" on my medical records at the doctor's office, especially because I disagree with the diagnosis and feel it was mostly a side-effect of depression meds I didn't need. But, the symptoms do present in certain c... |

I can relate to this. I used to be very outgoing online too, up until about a decade ago. The time in-between has sort of been a dead zone, with fits and starts. Like you, I eventually lost people's interest because I would talk a lot about things they couldn't think about or agree with. At times I ... |

It's too much. Self-branding is one thing, but don't abuse your own creation (which is popular for other reasons) by mistaking yourself as King of the Aspies. Perhaps if the ads were more action-based, like pictures of a speech being given or a video being made, it might make more sense. At the mome... |

Definitely. And no matter how much I bend over backwards to act nice, or deferential, or prepare long polite rationales explaining my decision-making processes. I got this in school also, and I was told then that it was because of stupid things like looking at people after I got a good grade and som... |

I'd also like to chime in and say that there's probably no such thing as a soul, at least in the common mythological sense, so my support is with you if you choose to ignore any unscientific assertions about what may or may not be damaging to one. |

Some feedback on jobs I've had: SUBWAY® Sandwich Artist® As a teenager I had a strong fascination with Subway and thought "Seafood and Crab" foot-longs were the best thing ever. So I went to work at the nearest one (small city, country atmosphere) when I was 15. Upsides: I enjoyed the ritualistic as... |
