Don't you think in previous times it was better, where a boss was entering a room, and the subordinates were wincing? :D Why do I have to gain respect of the others? And do you think this social stuff is also valid at military? Why a boss has to be the friend of his people? On the other side, there ... |

Hi, I am currently a manager and I had been a manager the last 11 years. But either I had a lot luck or I have much bad luck at my current position. I absolutely don't have authority here. I should lead two ladies, one 50 and one 32 years old. My predecessor was 60 years old and I am 43. Unfortunate... |

I have told today to my mother in law. As she is Brazilian, she was not very disappointed. She only stated with my wife that this is the explanation for my strange behaviour and that I was not malicious all the time she was passing with me. This was important for me. Even she is 71 years old, she is... |

I am still in the probation period and for other reasons I want to quit this job asap. Today I had an interview in an employment agency and the interviewer knows my company from the past. She understands why I want to leave and said that this company let a very bad impression on her. But the most re... |

I told my manager three months after I joined. This was necessary because the assistants I have, complained about me. He showed a certain understanding, but recommended me not telling to anyone else. As these ladies didn't stop to complain about my missing communication (was not true, I tried everyt... |

Joe,
this is exactly what I think. And I'm still convinced that people who are trained to have more charisma that they already have something. But who knows, at the end we are told AS have a negative charisma. That's what I feel sometimes. This means that training makes it even worse. |

Magnus: I am married with a Brazilian and we have a patchwork family: She brought her 17 years-old son in, and we have a two years old daughter. I always thought that in Brazil there are no Aspies, and if so, they don't suffer because you are all so open in sense of contacts and you don't care about... |

I always want to know how to make an impact on society. One thing I don't like about my Aspergers Syndrome is the whole social skills and charisma thing when it comes to official leadership and local/state/federal office holding. Otherwise I can just write my influences out in a book, but I feel a ... |

I currently have a job, but this is supposed to end soon. I had the luck to have been interviewed by a very nice lady. I don't think she was an Aspie, but she was somehow different. She liked my profile and I found her sympathic. Unfortunately she had to go four months after I joined the company. An... |

I think it depends on the person. You can learn to incorporate certain things into your personality that people will like, even if you are not perfect. There are people with autistic traits who have been very successful in politics. The one that comes immediately to mind is the current mayor of Lon... |

Some years ago, I thought that I only have a mentality problem with my own nation, because when I was going to the U.S. to do project work for several weeks, I felt totally different. All the people were talking with me as if I was another person. But I'm sure that was only a case of "foreigner bonu... |

Hi, in my opinion, many problems people have with Aspergers, are that they don't feel entertained enough. My impression is based on two experiences: First I have been working four years as Head of Controlling in an old-fashioned public service company, I was working solely with men and never heard a... |

You cannot learn charisma. And learning social skills is useless for an Asperger. People turn away from me no matter what I do. Yo can only hope to be close to intelligent people because the worst for an Asperger is to be obliged to be together with NT apes. For me I never understand why I always h... |

Hi, it's now 10 months ago, that I have the suspicion to be an Aspie. I had just lost a job within the probation period, after only three weeks! Before, I was working almost six years for an American company. (You need to know that I am German and this board was recommended to me a few days ago). In... |
