i wear makeup because im pretty ugly, and i used to be bullied about it a lot, but less since i started wearing makeup If you changed your behavior in order to please the bullies, such as using make-up to look prettier, then didn't the bullies win? If she enjoys wearing makeup and it makes her feel... |

I'm a woman, and I don't understand make-up at all. I mean, I know how to put it on (most every girl has that beaten into her head, I think), but I don't understand why women wear it. It doesn't change your face, it simply covers what's there (I believe the NT code phrase is "accentuates"). Why woul... |

I am right there with you. It makes me so mad when someone says, "Well, just don't feel that way." How can I NOT feel a certain way? Where is this magic shut-off switch that immediately turns off a feeling? I sure wish I had one; my feelings have to dissipate over time. Even if I've been shown to be... |

I have found that letting go of society's expectations of me has gone a long way towards pulling me out of the darkness. Instead of trying to make myself fit into a narrowly-defined space, I simply changed the definition. I'm not stuck on this planet with the rest of humanity; humanity is stuck on t... |

I used to chameleon a lot, and I still do some, but it's with purpose now. I'm aware of putting on a particular mask for a particular situation, but now I do it because I want to, not because I have to. I am able to actually be myself now that I have the diagnosis under my belt, and I don't have to ... |

Hello everyone! My name is Sarah, and I'm a 37-year-old married Aspie (diagnosed) female married to an Aspie (diagnosed) male. I live in a small town in southeastern Illinois (population 6000), but I grew up in a tiny town seven miles away that had one-sixth the population. I was raised Mormon, left... |

When I see a baby human, I think, "Oh. Someone has reproduced." That's my actual thought. It's not intended to be rude or mean or anything, it's just me noticing a fact. Someone has reproduced (well, two people have reproduced, but you get what I mean). However, when I see a baby animal, I'm all lik... |

I have Asperger's (diagnosed as an adult) as well as temporal lobe epilepsy. It's quite interesting living in my head.
Anyone else have that kind of interesting existence? |
