how did u get to b u? who starts? Huh? Where is b u and when did I go there? (I actually thought that for half this page.... sigh) IMHO we are a combination of instincts, past learning, and executive decisions. How one becomes who they are is a question of the strength of each of those parts, how t...

I make it a point to never look away when someone is angry with me or scolding me for something. Dogs do that. I am very fierce and never cower - not even when I know I should. I ran with boys as a little girl and learned to hide my weakness early. I love it! Personally my issue is I can't think an...

Failure to relate to others and their individual situations is kinda an issue with autism people. We need to see things through our own eyes to understand what is being portrayed. Mix that with your development level at that age (9 year olds are not adults despite them thinking they are (i did)) and...

A lot of times people think I am lying because they don't believe me. That's pretty common, I've run into that more times than not. And why is it that they think you are lying.... Deep down what is the cause? It couldn't possibly be that they believe it is ok to lie and just the way the world works...

It's more than just pressure, it's how the modern world operates. It's enough of a challenge having AS, I see no reason, to pick a fight with the whole world. Irregardless, I'm gonna assume you have little real world experience. And you would be incorrect. See you assume what is right for everyone ...

The fact is lieing is a fundamental right. If asked inappropiate questions you have to lie there is no way around it. If someone asks you how's your credit score, etc, when it's none of their business you cannot simply say I choose not to answer. If you were thinking speech is logical, and people h...

Maldo, a couple questions. Can you tell all the time when people are kidding with you or are being serious? Can others tell if you are kidding or being serious with them? Do you always ask others if everything is ok? Do people ask you why you are unhappy when you really are happy? How often do you a...

Thanks for your responses! I know she is a fantastic person, and I'm trying to help her see that. Just make sure you do it through positive thoughts and not the "you don't have AS come on". Instead use the route that she communicates just great with you and you always laugh at her jokes or whatever...

I'm going to answer this question and how it relates to my life. My life is turbulent, kind-of like waterfalls. You know how the water at the bottom is warmer because of the kinetic to thermal energy transfer like one famous physicist demonstrated—well what about the thermal energy lost to the wate...

Not even close she is a normal person who has had difficulty in her life and is learning to adjust. I have always been drawn to people who have had issues in the past and need a little time and reassurance for them to move on. They are more accepting of my differences. I have seen this a lot with in...

It's not a touchy subject for me, and I'll gladly be the first here to state that I proudly smoke tobacco. It's interesting to note that many people get involved to be part of a social circle, like teenagers in high school. For me, smoking has sometimes had the opposite advantage: it gives me an ex...

That's okay, no offense taken. Looking back on my last post, I kind of unintentionally made myself look like a saint... I'm not. I can be downright selfish and rude sometimes. But overall I have a strong altruistic side to my personality, and don't really value my own life that much. The response w...
