Hate using people's names. Can only comfortably do it with my daughter. It makes my skin crawl to use another person's name, and for someone to use mine.
Probably a good thing - I forget names, so I would only get it wrong! |

My girlfriend and I had a baby girl who died very suddenly last year, so I can kind of empathise, although she wasn't murdered in such an horrific manner. There is absolutely no pain worse than losing your child, and all I can do is send my deepest condolences to these poor people. I hope that in ti... |

Hi peoples! Happy Christmas to you all in advance. My girlfriend has been reading up on Asperger's because she wants to understand why I'm so difficult to live with. In my opinion, it goes both ways, but whatevs :D Anyway, she's read somewhere that an aspie's obsessions should be actively discourage... |

I've said this before. More than once. Why doesn't it ever work?! |

I feel for you - last week almost exactly the same happened to me. I was getting pushed around since I started three months ago. I tried to stand up for myself (without shouting or swearing!), but I got fired anyway. I'm still confused about what actually happened. I might have saved myself if I'd m... |

[quote="Entek"] If you think in terms of how monkeys and wolves function, and then add on the bits like money and mobile phones, it makes perfect sense.
I like that! Perfect description!

Yeah, I won't answer the phone. Drives my wife crazy.
And if I need to make a phonecall, I usually get her to do it for me. Or it'll be days before I pluck up the courage. |

Yup, self-awareness issue I think. I was always in my own little world. And when "normal" people's behaviour baffled me, I'd be confused, but think that THEY were the odd ones. Special interests and constantly living "inside my own head" meant that I just didn't really notice. Maybe I didn't want to... |

I've just spent the morning unable to speak more than one-syllable replies to my wife's questions. She was getting frustrated and starting to get angry with my lack of communication.
So I came online, searched "non-verbal", and showed her the results. Now she understands! Sweet!

Hey everybody! I'm Andy, fairly new here. I've been trawling through a lot of posts here for a while now, and it just struck me; compared to any other website/forum I've ever been on, the people on Wrong Planet have an unusually high level of spelling & grammar. Is this an aspie thing? I know I'... |

Hey,
I don't think Labour will help - the mess we're in is the mess they left us in last time. Cameron is not brilliant, I agree, but Tony Blair is the one I hold responsible. Houses were affordable pre-1997! |

Yes! I used to correct teachers at school if they made mistakes. I'm only trying to be helpful but I've had to start trying to stop myself...people don't like to be corrected... |
