I went to my senior prom. I was supposed to go with a girl I was seeing, but my parents objected since she didn't go to the same school as me and was a year older (also, they still weren't quite comfortable with my bisexuality yet, which played into it a lot). I went as the only person without a dat...

Can you still get out of milk on app stores, or is it exclusive to android/other app stores, because I can't find it on the apple app store :( it sounds like something I've always wanted, but never thought of needing. I'm not sure. I got it from the Android store, so it might not be available on iO...

Earlier this year I got an app on my phone which allows me to make very precise to-do and grocery lists called Out Of Milk. My life hasn't been the same since I got it - it's incredibly helpful when dealing with executive processing issues where I can't figure out what to do first or when I'm stress...

Most of the time I'm fairly verbal. I can't say I find it super easy to talk to people and I'm pretty shy, but I can speak without problems once someone talks to me usually. When I get stressed or excited I sometimes will lose words - they'll just go poof out of my sentence and I can't figure out wh...

I didn't mind the ones in k-12 school, but the ones in my college dorm drive me nuts. They send me into a panic, and they always go off when I'm relaxing in my PJs with my shoes off, so I have to scramble to put something more suitable on, gather up some stuff and get out, all while listening to tha...

Anyone else get bull like this from NTs? My wife sent me to the grocery store this morning. On the list was a request for three single-serving containers of "Vanilla-Honey" yogurt, made by a certain company. I could find the vanilla flavor, and I could find the honey flavor. But I couldn't find any...

... Then how am I still alive and talking to you? A friend of mine told me today that it's not possible to think in absolutes the way I do and continue to survive and essentially told me that I was faking it as an excuse for messing up. I often think in absolutes and don't think to ask questions abo...

I dislike the taste of water overall and always have, but it's been made worse recently through a little psychological trick called the Garcia effect. When I was really sick with Lyme disease last summer, I was on a nasty nasty medication called Doxycycline. I had to take it without food and with a ...

If I'm not on my medicine, yes. My anxiety is a severe disability if I'm not taking medication - it sends me into panic attacks and disrupts my entire life. However since I'm on medicine, it doesn't do much beside make me a little paranoid on occasion, something which I can brush off. Prosopagnosia ...

If a TV is on mute near me, I have the urge to Hulk Smash it and will try just about anything to turn it off if I can. I can't stand that electronic sound - it puts my nerve on edge. People with mosquito ringtones drive me nuts too. Right now I have a touch of tinnitus (that buzzing sound in your ea...

I sometimes hurt myself a little bit, not anything bad, but just hit myself with small objects or whip my arms with pieces of beaded string. This is probably because I'm a masochist with no way to release it right now.

I'm in the process of making a card that describes a few basic things about my AS in case I'm in an emergency and my stress makes my symptoms get worse. Mine has my name, address and a little about the accommodations I need from medical personnel or law enforcement, like why I rock and hit myself, a...

When I was in elementary school I would stare at people all the time without realizing I was doing it and always got in fights with people over it. Now when I accidentally stare at someone, I just avoid looking at them after I realize I'm doing it, totally look in the other direction and ignore that...

I thought both their reporter with autism videos were funny. The Onion is known for being irreverent and they never discriminate or lay off touchy (or even absurd) subjects.
