Hmmm. I was just wondering this the other day. IIRC I came to the conclusion that this habit develops as the result of loneliness. In any case, I definitely do it alot haha

By "social ties" i mean stuff like having mutual friends, being in the same class, etc.

...ties to? Outside of the internet and other places where people are explicitly looking to socialise, i mean. What i mean is, making friends with somebody, for example, in your class is simple enough (ignoring semantics). However, i don't understand how one would make friends with somebody that one...

The average isn't 5 plus or minus 2, it's 7 plus or minus 2.

Edit: unless you meant that as the avg for aspies?

Thanks for sharing this. May I also add, if your child says something, of which you don't understand the logic behind, don't belittle them and make them feel stupid for it.
