Boy, do I know this one! When I'm going out to eat in my home town, I usually pick the restaurant because I know they have a specific dish that I want at that particular time. My friends tease me about always ordering the same thing at any given restaurant. As someone else commented, if I try somet... |

My wife frequently does that for me. |

Hey, so I was wondering. Is anybody else just completely paralyzed by restaurant menus if they don't have something you *know* you like? My wife loves going to these nice restaurants where they *just don't have hamburgers* or anything like that -- no burgers, no chicken sandwiches, nothin'. It's all... |

Benny (Ima call you Benny), I'm in a similar boat. I don't really stim unless I'm severely anxious, and otherwise I don't feel terribly asperger-y. But I am diagnosed, and very recently, and by all accounts, my story is one of progressive improvement from a kid to today. As it stands, I still get re... |

I was on ritalin for years, but it never seemed to affect me any. My mom would periodically ask me if I thought the pills were helping, and I'd just sort of shrug and tell her I never noticed a difference between being on it and off it. This was the early-to-mid 1990's, when I was a kid, and they di... |

Me all over. I was notorious for never doing my homework and skimping on assignments. Everything just seemed pointless to me; I was educating myself in the areas I was interested in, and school just struck me as ridiculous and arbitrary. I just didn't *care*. My grade, as a result, were absolute gar... |

I'm going to be starting grad school in theology in September, and I'm trying to psych myself up for it and start preparing mentally. I'm pretty worried; I'm a smart guy, but my time management and study skills have never been spectacular, and grad school I understand is supposed to be pretty intens... |

I got a perfect score on the new GRE verbal section, which is supposed to be pretty jaw-droppingly rare.
People think I use big words to sound smart, but I'm really just reaching for precision.
These are the same people who get on me for using "ain't." I love "ain't," though. |

I'm ASD, my fiancee is not. I'm pretty concerned about how likely it is we'll have children on the spectrum. I'm not the only person in my family with ASD, either; my cousin Ben has it, and I'm pretty sure a couple of my uncles do, too. So, anybody know anything, or have their own kids and can offer... |

My diagnosis was free, because I'm participating in an ASD study at a neuropsychology research university, and assessment is the first part. So there are options for people who aren't well-off or don't have insurance; God knows I couldn't have afforded it otherwise. |

I'm really worried about the new terminology. Asperger's doesn't exactly have the same stigma as autism. |

I'm a novelty junkie in computing, myself. I love new features and playing around with them.
I just resist change in my schedule and routines. As long as those are unimpeded, I'm a happy guy. |

Tommy, you sound pretty much exactly like me when I was your age, about seven years ago. I just got diagnosed myself last week, so I would say it would be worth pursuing if you have the means. If you live in the New York City area, there's a study being conducted at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bron... |

Hey guys and gals, kiddos and kid...ettes.... I had a question. I got diagnosed with Aspergers last week after years of wondering, but I was diagnosed with ADHD as a kid, which I understand is quite common. The medications I was on during childhood never helped, and I had significant academic impair... |
