I am wearing a blue Lord of the Rings t-shirt with the white tree of Gondor stamped the front and some really old dark blue pajama pants that are stretchy and soft. Oh, and a sterling silver St. Michael medallion I bought as a treat for myself. |

People are put off by my mask of a face. I'm like a lot of people here in that respect, I think. I just don't show emotions on my face well and I know my eyes can look very dull and lifeless even when I'm happy. So that confuses or creeps out people. Another big one that I HATE is how I tend to ramb... |

Today is my 28th birthday. Earlier in the day I was about a 4. Now I'm -10 due to my bipolar alcoholic father (who I am 100% certain has Aspergers too but is undiagnoised) and his shenanigans. I think I'm going to take a bunch of melatonin and just sleep now. |

Hi Fnord and peterd! Thank you for your welcomes! Yes, depression is a very typical response to being autistic and not having a clue. In my case we don't exactly know how much of my TRD is from having Asperger's for 26 years and not knowing it and/or how much is from genetics since bipolar disorder ... |

Also lot of people here embrace their condition and don't want a cure and I think the "self pity" you are talking about is their frustrations about their condition and lack of understanding from people. Yes there are some here who don't like having it and wished they didn't have it and I see at lea... |

In some ways I think so simply because I think other people are less likely to try and understand you when you appear normal for the most part. Symptoms might be dismissed as "quirks" or people decide you are just an "odd" person as opposed to someone with high-functioning autism. I have treatment-r... |

Oh yes. :/ I started when I was a young teenager and used a razor to make small cuts on my arms or legs. It's escalated since then by 200%. You know how most people think of teenagers when it comes to self-harm? I'm almost 28 now and I self-harm more than ever. I've banged my head against the wall i... |
