I don't get meltdowns as such but have found earphones/an MP3 player with audioplays or music crucial in helping me tolerate public transport. We have to go to a wedding and in order to get there I need to fly for 6 hours with my autistic daughter. I've only ever taken her on a plane once before when she was 12. My daughter is terrifed of them and when she was younger she would get violent with the poor nurse. Now she's a little calmer but its still a terrible ordeal for her
