Yeah, some can be very patronizing.. others can be rude regarding your disclosure, usually thru ignorance. I told my brothers and some close friends and got no response whatsoever. They chose to ignore it. They probably "knew" or suspected anyway. My workplace has always been pretty accomodating abo...

Interesting! Back on topic, i have never liked odd numbers, unless they are multiples of five. If the volume control has numbers i will pester someone until they change it to either an even number or a multiple of five and I would refuse to close my eyes if my alarm clock displayed a different numbe...

Actually, 616 is the number of the beast, so 308 is half of it.

Doesn't have quite the same ring.

I've always had a "link" or fascination with the time 3:33.. so much so, that it seems I'd always notice the clock when it was either 3:33 am or pm. And, I always joked with my (now-ex) girlfriend that 3:33 was probably when I was gonna die :) I'm sure now that it freaked her out. These days she won...

Hehe, I've learned NOT to give directions for the most part.. I've lived here 3 years and still don't know the streets well enough to direct someone. Anyone tried to give motorists directions? Do you know that feeling when you're trying to be helpful but you know you should really keep your mo...

Agreed.. in fact, I'll say that alot won't even "want" to know.. Its really a matter of personal preference really. I take the exact opposite stance of Dave since I tend to tell people only on a "need to know" basis. Its a complex disorder and few people will really understand it. Often times it wil...

I'm with you! I'm 53 and while I know "how" to drive.. I have never had a license for many of the same reasons you've given. I feel confident I could eventually become proficient at driving, but have never attempted getting a license due to anxiety primarily. I've noticed other posters here talking ...

I get lost or disoriented very easily... I can get turned around in a building and be unable to find my way out, lol. It always amazes me when my girlfriend's dad could be in a building moving furniture around and say "movie it to the East".. now where the heck is East and how can you tell which dir...

Me, I tell everybody.. for a couple reasons. 1) it's therapeutic for me 2) it may help someone who also feels the same way but feels unable to divulge their feelings 3) if they can't accept that I may have a "problem", then that's THEIR problem, not mine. I've just started discussing it on my blog, ...

Luckily, my therapist mentioned Asperger's fairly quickly and has been very supportive. <breathes sigh of relief> I'd actually suspected Asperger's on my own when doing some research and she just verified it. The difficult part is now I feel stigmatized by it..

This place continues to blow me away.. I've found so many people here that have had similar experiences to my own (I'm recently diagnosed)! I still have a very real difficulty in believing others actually exist or think independently, but sometimes get a moment of "clarity".. and for some reason tha...
