I have never felt romantic love so I cannot say for sure, but I voted #2. Love doesn't exist in a vacuum. If I become attached to someone, that attachment has some reason to it other than love. Now, if that attachment leads to love, and if that love leads to closer attachment, and creates a sort of ... |

Turns out she already has a boyfriend, but it lists her as single on facebook. Like, seriously, people don't make any sense to me. |

I can relate with you there, although I'm a mishmash of many different throwbacks, but most relate to mid 20th century America and Europe with intellectual overtones from the 18th and 19th centuries. Last week, I listened to the following kinds of music: '50s surf rock, '40s and '90s swing, '50s and... |

Well, I'm looking into several for myself. I, like you, have little trouble with structured conversations. I am ok at small talk -- though a little disadvantaged because I'm sometimes unfamiliar with what other people are talking about, though this is less of a problem than formerly. But quite awfu... |

I would bank on it being causally unrelated. Some of the biggest hypocrites I know are quintessential NT's. |

Do you guys think it is easier for a AS boy to get an NT girl than it is for an AS girl to get an NT boy? I think it would probably be equally difficult. From reading this forum, it seems like this is a trend: AS boys have difficulty in the initiation phase; NT girls rarely seek out boys as the gen... |

If you have good social skills but are still dysfunctional when it comes to friendships and relationships, I'm surprised they or you didn't look into personality disorders. There are lots of NT's with personality disorders who struggle socially, why was this not considered in your case? Well, I wou... |

It's funny. In some ways, I feel younger. I'd rather play video games, watch TV shows, and engage in immature Internet humor than do typical 21 year old activities (get drunk, hook up, and enjoy the resulting confusion and hangover; rinse and repeat). On the other hand, I feel older in a lot of ways... |

Neurotypicals believe life is/should be about survival/existence. Autistics believe life is/should be about something other than survival/existence. That seems possible, though if what you say later is right it's possible I have never actually experienced either of those perspectives. I find life t... |

Depends. I'm beginning to realize the best connections are where common ground exists (to catalyze the connection) but also where one's strengths and weaknesses complements the other's strengths and weaknesses (to secure that connection). I'm sort of on the Aspie-NT line so I could probably secure c... |

I think it's an interesting idea. It has been brought up before, but there are instances of people who have surgically cut the corpus callosum to prevent epileptic seizures and the resulting side effects do not result in autistic psychological qualities. http://www.webmd.com/epilepsy/guide/corpus-ca... |

Once you move over to analyst or business analyst or anything similar, it gets very rought dealing with b... |
