[quote="Whenever these eggheads start quoting statistics or draw their conclusions therefrom,
I am reminded of two books that I've read and should be in every Aspies library:
How to Lie With Statistics by Darrell Huff and Irving Geis &
The Mismeasure of Man by Stephen Jay Gould [/quote]
I think Mark Twain once said something like: "There are big lies, colossal lies, and statistics".

In Chinese medicine the Spleen is affected by too much thinking such as a student might do when studying for exams which is why they may be affected by stomach cramps, sickness or complaints. Interestingly, Autistics do have a high preponderance of stomach/digestive complaints and imbalances of bac...

Sometimes I feel like I forgot most of the memories of my life. I had a reunion with my highschool mates (we haven't seen each other for 7 years); one girl said I like puzzles and the like. I can guess it's true, but I don't remember anything about that :? About the poor auditory memory, have you ch...

Why is it assumed that children with Autism/Asperger Syndrome don't play Pretend when they are children? I seem to be the only one here who didn't like to do it. I don't like even roleplaying. They best I could pretend is that toys I built with Lego were the official toys you could buy. On one hand...

I've noticed in Malcolm_Scipio's posts that he seems to believe that every genius ever, from Beethoven to Michelangelo, was autistic. It can't be simply because someone is categorized in other ways. John Nash was schizophrenic, for example. Van Gogh instead was bipolar. I do think most geniuses had...

Darkness, heights, the mouth at the other end of my bed, the monster in my bathtub... it sucks when your mind invents things you know they don't exist but you fear nonetheless :? Anyway, about heights I discovered it may have something to do with not fixating your point of view. If your eyes waver t...

It represents the Aspergic trait of not knowing personal space I noticed it only in the case of Gregory :? and a tendency to behave inappropriately. As a description, it is too general. It can mean so much things... It shouldn't be perceived as patronising. I don't think there was any condescendenc...

Why do you want to recognise 'light' or 'shadow' aspies? I think it's just a fascination about pigeonholing :D Now that I think better about it, I have to decide whether pigeonholing is on the "light" side or on the "shadow" side of the ASP*. This is a tough decision :? *as in "Use the ASP, Luke!"

Maybe I don't remember the scene or I don't understand the words you are using, but I think that getting in other people's faces is not patronizing at all.
