Eharmony was really where the meeting up for no chemistry seemed to happen like a broken record. On the other hand when I tried OKC I notice that my luck at even getting responses was drastically different - I'd get responses regularly or even be hit up with questions perhaps once or twice a weak -...

I've been very close friends with someone for almost a decade, and I've been normal friends with them for more than two. We've been having trouble recently due to large changes in our lives. I ended up taking a job and have to live with family about 2+ hours away. I've also been dating during that t...

I've had great luck, at least so far, with OKC. It takes a bit of time and effort. I had discussions with several women over a couple of months and eventually found one who I clicked with. I asked her out and four months later we've never been happier. My SO, like techstepgenr8tion, apparently had a...

^^ if you are voting vote Republican because you are opposed to high taxes and inefficient government programs, I would say you are at least getting a chuckle out of the liberal artsy types. Yeah... If you're concerned about high taxes and inefficient government, then you shouldn't vote based on pa...

Midori is extremely light, though. I hadn't realized just how much Iceweasel was slowing down my whole system. Replacing it with Midori and it suddenly feels like I doubled the RAM. You may want to check out swiftweasel w/ the usual noscript/flashblock add-ons, if you value memory use. I have 128mb...

That pessimistic view can certainly be innacurrate, but it is most likely erring on the side of caution- better safe than sorry. If people only were cautious or nervous if they had 100% reliable confirmation that they were in danger, the human race wouldn't have lasted this long. One of the things ...

that made me 'creepy' I guess and she never talked to me again. go figure. If you show someone that you can do something very easily they may naturally assume that you do it a lot ;) Yup. That level of proficiency just screams "I do this 5 hours a day- that's why I'm so good at it". I think the iss...

IIRC -march=k6 or k6-2 may be needed, so stuff compiled as x86 may not work well, at least IME.

In a nutshell, nice guy logic: The truth - assertive guys get women jerks are narcissistic a-holes jerks happen to be assertive guys too Where it goes wrong - Therefore, you must be a narcissistic a-hole to get women. I wouldn't call you a jerk. It is possible to be assertive & nice too. The as...

yesplease: The point of the study I linked and the 5 other studies it makes reference to in the abstract is that the diagnostic criteria creates a divide based on criteria that does not fit the progression of actual patients, and it has lead to a situation where no two doctors are applying the crit...

I think bi-curious is the healthiest attitude to have about sex. Weather you are pedominently Gay (like me) or Straight, or somewhere in the middle, I think keeping an open mind about other options is the way to go. However, I'm currently in a monogomous relationship with a great guy, so no curiosi...

The main criticism leveled at the asperger designation is related to the fact that, if you follow the criteria strictly, it is unlikely if not impossible to diagnose someone as having Asperger Syndrome. What criteria were unlikely to be met given a strict interpretation and what does a strict inter...

The idea that AS is based on some kind of shellshock from taking it all in is a theory, but I don't feel that much fear with people. And there are already scientific studes showing infants that simply don't understand single, uninterupted facial expressions, in a calm environment. Given this and a ...

The debt bubble, and consequently the real estate/commodities/market bubbles were a long time coming. From 1995 to 2007 consumer credit increased by ~13%/year, w/ no commensurate increase in wages to support this increase. I can't find mortgage info earlier than 2004, but the run-up from then until ...

If someone found an exit node that wasn't blocked they can restrict their traffic to it IIRC, at least until WP identifies it. What would be a bit of a pain is writing something that can identify which tor nodes are recognized and which aren't.
