Maybe try Orajel, Cepacol (these are US brands) or some other type of numbing agent that is appropriate for dental / mouth?

The alarm would sound sometimes when my father and I would go to a home store (Lowe’s) when I was in my 20s and he would always put his arms up in the air in a ‘they caught me’ pose and a grin. And the cashier would chuckle and wave us through. There are some who abhor them, but I love the self-chec...

I have no idea how anyone can work at an emergency vet and see this every day. More power to them. Same. As I recall, the suicide rate for veterinarians is staggeringly high. Just looked on the Google and in 2019, 1 in 6 report having had suicidal thoughts in the previous year & 3x more likely ...

The therapists I have had (3 so far, as the clinical practice I use has some amount of turnover and one moved out of state) ALL have said in the first session that if I should happen to see them outside of the office, they will give absolutely NO indication they know me, unless I initiate. And that ...

I mean… do you think / fear that your therapist is going to judge you or think less of you? To a point, there are tasks that we all zone out doing, like when you drive somewhere and you really don’t remember anything about the drive and to a degree it’s like ‘How did I get here?’ There’s a quote tha...

Hmm. When I have a therapist appointment (it’s only been by phone and just recently on Zoom), she literally can’t talk to me unless I’m alone & in a private place.

I know that a Facebook page called Everyday Aspergers sometimes has links to tech & computer jobs for people on the spectrum with a program called Ultranauts. Run by Samantha Craft, who is active in the community re:employment opportunities, if & when you’re ready.

Hang in there, Fenn.

I have a friend in NC who was just walking down the sidewalk this weekend, and some guy asks if she wants to go out for a drink. Kind of alarmed, she said, no thanks. And then the guy proceeded to call her ugly and make fun of her shoes. A lot of men are £^€¥ing *s and it’s like there’s NO sense of ...

It sounds like catastrophizing much more than simply negativity. Or maybe you’re wanting the catastrophic? Some find some solace in the “Meh….” middle. I would count myself among them. Same poop, different day. If it’s my turn to go, then  it’s been real. Just wondering about the knife, tho… ...

Perhaps this could be a sequel to that Kings of Leon song? 8)

Glad that you’re safe. It might be something to ask the company how to send it back without destroying Her Majesty’s postal service. Inside a metal tin or something?

Truth be told, I don’t think there’s a way to honestly avoid it.

When someone demands that you undergo a personality change to stay with them that’s a pretty clear sign that it’s time to let go.

Happy that you’ve had the best response and acceptance from disclosing to your partner. :) That’s something that doesn’t always work out for the best in dating, but it no doubt helped that she suspected early on and was fine with you as you, regardless. As for the situation with your mum & her f...

Thanks guys for understanding. It makes me feel better when people understand rather than judge. This cousin of mine was really close to me growing up, and we've always shared the same thoughts and ideas. Then we grew apart, and although I'm still in touch with her, I'm closer to her mum (my aunt),...

Sorry that you’re having such an issue with this. Sleep is supposed to be a refreshing thing and is critical for our well-being but when it results in terrible visions like that, it’s anything but. We still don’t have much of an understanding of dreams and what they are. I think most of the science ...
