The Bible wasn't written to be a "ripping good yarn" though. ...Does this make it problematic to adopt? Absolutely; it just wasn't conceived as a drama and the adaptations that have worked best have been liberal ones; adding, deleting, and changing things for the sake of a compelling human story. B...

As for Aspies having high testosterone, Iam not so sure, doesn't high testosterone stop you growing early, make you bald etc?, I don't get the impression most Aspies are short stocky bald men, rather the opposite in fact. Well, I'm 23 and already have a little bald spot. I wouldn't say I have a hig...

"Why do movies based on the bible usually suck?" Because the bible sucks. It really does, it's a very poorly written book, almost completely unreadable. The Bible wasn't written to be a "ripping good yarn" though. There is storytelling in it, but that's only a part of it, and not all of this storyt...

Didn't Dawkins try to argue that it's fine to kill children (actually born ones) before they could have intellectual and personal features that make them "human"? This doesn't seem much like a question of religion to me. A lot of different people appear genuinely empathetic to children about to be ...

I belong to a local pagan group. They tend to be filled with "eccentric" people in general, and it would not surprise me in the least if some of them were on the spectrum.

When I was a teenager I used to do this without realizing it all the time. If you make an effort to speak quieter in general it might become habit, and when you do break into your "loud voice" it won't be as overpowering.

I've actually been told I'm good at "small talk". Just reply with some banal observation or give your own personal experience with whatever you're talking about. Commiserate with how they feel about the situation! "I know! That's ridiculous, isn't it!" The social problem I have the most is knowing w...

In general, I actually relate to women better. People on the spectrum are less likely to "get" gender-specific expectations (and social expectations in general) and find themselves "breaking the rules" of gender a lot. This has even lead to me not identifying with my gender much (not because I am fe...
