#1, My number one "cause" for making me feel overwhelmed is lack of sleep. My suggestion is, don't waste sleep time on unnecessary things like watching a movie or surfing the net. Not sure if you do this but it makes me crazy when I only sleep for 3 to 4 hours and then I feel like I can't handle any... |

I would suggest you tell him spitting is not acceptable and next time he does it, the consequence will be.............. whatever hurts him most. I mean, spitting in someone's eye can give them an eye infection, specially someone that's not from his family and isn't accustomed to his germs. (btw, my ... |

Really??? That's what my psychiatrist said it was. He said it runs in the family since my younger brother had ADHD since childhood. He said i just got it later in life and prescribed adderal. I take 10 to 20 mg a day, it has helped me understand concepts better, i make less mistakes on exams and hav... |

yeah, totally. I can't stand it when more than one person is talking to me at the same time. Sure, I feel like closing my ears. Or my daughter is listening to music on her tablet and my husband is listening to something else on his ipad! (Ah, I just want to scream) Then one gerbil is spinning in his... |

Okay, so I took my daughter for her 9 year check up and it went pretty well. I really love her doctor, she is so detailed, instead of a chart she uses a PC and reads the information and asks about previous colds, infections, etc. in every appointment, she catches little mistakes the nurses make with... |

Wow, that's terrible! Did your parents tell you they loved you every other day and maybe that day they were just delirious??? I sometimes get angry at my daughter and raise my voice but then apoligize later. I tell her i love her a million times a day but when she has been driving me mad for a few d... |

Wow, that is majorly weird. I would be freaking out! Do you think it's the landlord? A boyfriend? An ex-boyfriend who still has the key to your home/apartment? Did you ask your son who gave him the gift? Did you ask the school who gave it to him or left it to him? You could tell the school that they... |

Wow, it seems like you are going through so much with your son right now. Can't even imagine it!! ! First off, I'm just so impressed by how well your son managed to do up to now! Just last year, he was doing awesome! I would continue to remind him of that and tell him how he will get back there and ... |

First of all, I just wanted to say, ConfusedNewb, don't give up. There is hope. I don't think 5 year olds are organized yet (hell, I'm still not organized, but I love organizing) and they love keeping everything, I think this is typical kid behavior!! !! Seriously though, you do seem a little overwh... |

If I find anything out, I'll let you know. My daughter is going for her 9 year check up on Monday and I've requested a referral to get her evaluated. |

trollcatman, I find your reply really interesting as I am really trying to better understand my daughter in order to have less of these episodes but at the same time, I was really tired and needed help. I had a 4 hour lab in the morning and then afterwards had been non stop running errands for hours... |

I paid for the good day like I had borrowed it from a loan shark! Today had to be the worst! Asked DD to help put away the clothes, she didn't want to so I told her she had to. It went downhill from there! So over it. Wish there was a redo button! Wish I could just get over it! I think i need to tak... |

Wow! Just wanted to say thank you for all the kind and encouraging words. This board and it's members are so welcoming and understanding. I will take her to her pediatrician next week to see if I can get a referral. I agree that discussing the issues with her school will not help right now. I just w... |

I have not had her evaluated. Every one is always telling me how well behaved she is. I'm so proud of that! I sometimes think it's all in my head. Like maybe we are not strict enough with her and let her get away with being disrespectful but then I wonder why she acts the way she does. Even with how... |

I really need help! I'm so tired of parenting. I just have this rollercoaster relationship with my daughter! We have amazing days, then we have horrible days like today. My DD is almost 9! After guitar practice I asked her to pick up her shoes from the front door. She ignored me even after I called ... |
