EXACTLY that! I watch it as it happening ahead of time. I try to speak out, get ignored or told I'm being dramatic, then watch it all play out. At this point, I don't say anything anymore, and just assume I'm the crazy one.

Though it's not a new experience, I recently had a more personal invested experience in adjusting or assimilating. I'm comfortable with myself to know I won't fit in immediately in most scenarios. However, I do know that given time, I can assimilate and fit into most situations. That being said, som...

I don't think 1 and 3 are inseparable. I'm more 1, but as a 1, how can you exclude 3? Especially living in one of the states where Covid apparently doesn't exist and everyone is ignoring it, just living their lives. It's not that I'm afraid I'm susceptible to a fatal extent, but if I can just chill ...

I'm so happy I found this post. I was just about to post something similar. I understand that I don't have the natural inclinations as most people, but I feel like I'm capable of understanding and mimicking it. Yet, every single day, I find myself trying to express my thoughts only to be ignored, or...

I feel like I have a lot of friends who just decide not to respond to me. I'm probably being too sensitive, but I don't do that. If I get a call at a bad time, I don't answer, but I'll at least send a text acknowledging. I hate talking on the phone, but I wouldn't just ignore anyone. I have friends ...

That's understandable. I can't stand being interrupted when I'm in the middle of deep thought. Do you do the thing where when you're focused on something, and someone tries to talk to you, you ignore then until you reach a good stopping point? My youngest daughter does it too, and I had to explain t...

Scorpion entails a group of mentally-enabled people who work for the government to solve complex scenarios. I LOVE this show. I feel like I really relate to the characters in the show, and it really keeps me intrigued. Does anyone else watch this show?

Many of my friends and my fiance have learned to understand me. I never had a term for it such as "meltdown", but I do experience it. I called it "me-time". When I just can't deal with people (loved or not), and I just need to be alone. I typically will just throw on my headphone...

I love basketball. I've played it all of my life, and I love watching it. When I get too stressed out or overwhelmed, it's my go-to. It's the only time my brain turns off. I've played for so long, I can just let go, not thinking, and let 2-3 hours pass without my mind spinning on things.

I'm from a small town so Autism wasn't even a consideration there. I was in special ed until 3rd grade. In 1st grade, they had something like 20 index cards of assignments that we were supposed to do every day. I completed them within a couple of weeks, and refused to redo them. So, I just stopped d...

With kids, I find it tough to set a rigid schedule. I tried to do a scheduled task list, but I get wayyyyyyy too annoyed when I get off track of my schedule. So, what I've started doing is every week I make a list of accomplishments I need to achieve the coming week. Then every night, I make a list ...

About interrupting conversations: That bothers me too. I couldn't imagine doing it myself. I almost envy people that DON'T find it uncomfortable. About asking about books: I don't mind that too much. At least it's showing interest. Sidenote: My fiance and I always debate about the touching thing. I ...
