I will have to look into that radio station! It sounds like it would be an empowering thing to listen to. :)
I do have a favorite blog that I follow, that I remember any time I hear, "People with ASD DON'T/CAN'T do [thing]" It helps!

I get surprised when I see people setting their clocks fifteen minutes fast. The theory, of course, is they won't be late for where they need to be. But surely they must know it's actually fifteen minutes earlier that what their timepiece says. Strange logic. Agreed! It doesn't make any sense to me...

Thank you, everyone, for the support and advice. I think that, for right now, I'm going to continue therapy. I love my therapist, and she has also worked with kids on the spectrum at some point in her career, so she's been much more hopeful and helpful. I'm glad to know that this doctor is WRONG, an...

Yesterday, I had a long-awaited appointment with the psychiatrist at the local mental health clinic here. It was another step, so I'd been told, on the way towards getting an evaluation for ASD. She had to evaluate me, and decide whether I needed a DIFFERENT evaluation, one that would point me towar...

I am pretty clumbsy, and also occasionally bite the inside of my cheek. Not everyone does? It's not an every day thing, though. More of a once every couple of weeks thing.

I watch clocks when I am anticipating something. Obsessively. Like, pacing back and forth, anxiously waiting for someone who said they were going to show up, checking the clock, seeing that they are one minute late, panic slowly rising, pace a little more, check again, two minutes late, more panic. ...

Yup, the financially troubled married couple were definitely in a bad spot. I felt very badly for the wife. It sounded like she was trying to say that he'd accrued all of that debt without her knowledge, and that he was saying, "Well, that's life, you should have expected that." NO! The married coup...

My mom doesn't seem to like accordion music. I'm already taking music lessons, so I don't think she will want to buy a musical instrument she doesn't even like and extra lessons with someone else. Again, then, do you think that you could convince a few relatives to "go in on one" together for a gif...

Here is how I see this: Do you know how many kids have random "flighty" interests in their teens? How many kids are sooooo into the guitar, ice skating, skateboarding, or something else that requires a certain amount of expensive gear, only to have that gear sitting dusty in their closets just a few...

http://aspietests.org/raads/questions.php?show=8aa655ba8032&locale=en_GB a bit higher scores here. Odd thing on that test is that the average scores for NTs is higher than the threshold. scores. ^^ That might come from the fact that there are people who assume they are NT, and hit the "NT" butt...

Aspies could not survive in a regular education setting. (When I first talked to someone at the mental health clinic here in town, to say that I wanted to seek diagnosis, she asked me, "Well, were you in special education?" When I replied that I had not been, and that I actually did very well with m...

When it comes to light sensitivity, my worst days are the ones where I wear my sunglasses, and it is STILL too bright outside. Also, there are days when having sunglasses on my face sets off tactile sensitivity, and it hurts to wear them. Then, I am torn between wearing sunglasses to block too much ...

Your total score: 174 (NT avg score- 83, ASD avg score- 140) This would mean that, statistically, your answers would warrant looking into an ASD diagnosis by a professional. All of your other scores, other than Language, are in the very high range. So, I would say that, in those areas, again, that w...
