That is just so cool! And I figure that if SAP wants to hire people on the spectrum, they may be open to discuss accommodations - that sorta goes with the territory. The better they pay you, the more they are open to getting the most out of your work. Absolutely. They aren't paying us any less than... |

It seemed like the only job offers for Aspies are in IT. Until now I haven't seen any other field offer work for Aspies and not all Aspies are good at IT or have the means to acquire knowledge in IT/Programming. Specialisterne in Canada also had partners with a large Canadian bank. This is just wha... |

I was a speaker at the Canucks Autism Gala, a charity gala hosted by the Canucks Autism Network, a Vancouver charity which enables children and young adults on the spectrum and their families to enjoy recreational and social events. I was given a chance to to speak about my experiences working at SA... |

Deadline to apply: November 9 I'm trying to spread the word around - there are 5 positions for software developers in Vancouver, Canada. These positions are only open to people on the spectrum. The company is SAP, the German software giant who specializes in enterprise software. They have committed... |

I don't mean to be a dark cloud over a field of sunshine, but it doesn't seem like she even likes you, if she's acting this way. (Side questions: Have you had a mutual conversation to establish that she's your girlfriend? Have you kissed her?) For any kind of romantic relationship to exist, there a... |

Autism doesn't discriminate, but it certainly would be more commonly diagnosed in wealthier nations with subsidized healthcare and from backgrounds that stigmatize mental health less. I do think it would be more likely to be diagnosed in European cultures than Asian or African cultures, for example. |

Physical attraction is pretty important too. Most aspies might find fashion and style rather challenging. I know that I don't go out of my way to dress up so I just keep fashion simple and work out in the gym instead. I'm not ripped or athletic by any means and I'm rather short, but I certainly look... |

We're both aspies. I'm very fond of touching but its difficult to convince her to hold my hand for any significant period of time. She doesn't mind spending 10+ hours per date and hugging me each time but anything else can make her uncomfortable. I find it difficult to keep my hands to myself all th... |

I think, in any relationship, that people should meet each other halfway. I don't think it's "selling out" for an autistic person to adapt to the neurotypical world. I also think that neurotypicals must meet autistic people halfway as well. I absolutely agree with this. A partner can give... |

Interesting story, but not much new. The level "autistics want relationships" is painfully low, and I bet the conference won't go into the more interesting differences that are so important to the success or failure of neurodiverse relationships. This is an excellent point that needs to b... |

Thank you so much! I'm surprised by the plethora of scientific sources; they do seem interesting if we need an in depth perspective. However, the easily consumable journalism sources at the bottom seem very helpful. Much appreciated. If anyone else could vouch for and or offer more suggestions, I'd ... |

I agree, sometimes good things do happen. I started dating an aspie girl a few months back. Things move slowly but its a very simple and drama free relationship, and as an aspie, I can't ask for anything more. I really hope that it'll turn out as well as Anita & Abraham but so far, so good |

Hi, My company does some publications on autism as part of their "Autism at Work" program and I've noticed that sometimes Autism Speaks is quoted as a source for stats for autism. I've had some success having these quotes redacted, but I realize that they will need a reliable and reputable... |

Hi, I'm trying to provide some advice for my company's program on hiring people on the autism spectrum. We would have publications on the plight of people on the spectrum and our journalism team would often use quotes from Autism Speaks (I don't blame them, 5/5 aspies I asked don't know about their ... |
