Hi, I do not have any words of wisdom for you. I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone. We are going through exactly the same thing with our son. When I read your post, it reads like something I could have written myself. I showed it to my husband and he said that this is exactly like u... |

Hi, My son was recently diagnosed with ASD. He is nine years old. I am trying to learn as much as I can about ASD. I want to make sure that I am doing everything that I can to help him out. So, I'm curious to know, what do you wish your parents had done for you? And what do you wish they knew about ... |

As an NT, I can say that there is not enough knowledge out there about ASD. Before my son was diagnosed I didn't' know anything about ASD. I also believe that since ASD is not something you can see by looking at someone, it is more difficult to understand. If you see someone in a wheelchair, you don... |

Thank you so much for sharing and explaining what these behaviours mean. I will be more aware of what my son is doing and how he is feeling.
I will definitely be back with more question. |

Hi, Do people with ASD really prefer to be alone or are they alone because they have trouble communicating? The reason I ask is because my son has ASD and does not play with other kids at school. The books that I have read about ASD say that they prefer to be alone but I worry that he is lonely. Sho... |

I am very insterested in this discussion about the hand flapping, bouncing and other behaviours. My son does the hand flapping and he has this head nodding thing that he ... |
