Thank you, and I appreciate your logical response to my very emotional one. Every little bit helps me to further understand as well. Exactly your point; and thank you for seeing mine so clearly in that awful mess of politics. No small feat, that! lol To you I'm sure NTs get into an awful mess of po...

I did not make any of those assumptions. I was just making a statement and asking if it made sense to you. Perhaps someone else may read it and your response and find something useful in it to them. But as for you, you posted something and I was compelled to write what popped into my head. That bein...

My mother is actually the one who suggested to me that I have Asperger's. She works with DD adults. It had never occurred to her before because neither of us had ever heard of Asperger's. She had been complaining about my father (they got divorced when I was very young) and just stopped mid rant an...

UPDATE: My therapist recently gave me a written (and signed) "report" on the testing he had given to me, and it included my diagnoses (depression, anxiety, Asperger's). It also included the elevations I had on the personality inventory. I showed it to my dad, thinking that if he saw it in black and...

I feel there wasn't an intent to do harm, but looking at the photo still makes me sad. I'm not sure, so many conflicting opinions on Facebook about it.

Has anyone seen this photo and article on the disabled child who was off to the side in a class photo? I've gotten mixed opinions on this over on Facebook and I was just wondering what everybody thought about it here. http://www.inquisitr.com/791463/wheelchair-class-photo-parents-angry-after-disable...

Hi Everyone! I just want to introduce myself. I am a 31 year old nt-woman who was studying to become a Marriage and Family Therapist for about 6 years. Due to having an autistic adult in my life, I soon became frustrated with the lack of classes, knowledge, and support therapists were capable of pro...

Sometimes there could be discrimination issues too. Some people do not want a diagnosis because they don't want to be treated differently.

Some people don't believe in Dissociative Identity Disorder, or multiple personalities. But it is real. Many people in this world cannot or choose not to believe something they are ignorant or afraid of. It is sad, but do not let the ignorance of others hold you back. As long as you continue to lear...

Many of the people I work with who are diagnosed with Asperger's were diagnosed as children. The ones that were not diagnosed as children, like yourself, are rarely diagnosed as adults. The reasons for this are numerous. There are hardly any services to assist adults with Asperger's. The clinicians ...

The advice that I love to give to aspies and all people is to always be yourself, but never stop learning and trying to better yourself. Think of Spock when Star Trek first started, and how he integrated all that he learned as he got older. He was still Spock, but an ever better version of himself. ...
