Thank you again everyone! I'm in a hurry here, but have read through everything and will reply when I have more time. One thing that stood out today was that we went to lunch after church with another family and the mom wanted to hear all about my son's camping trip. He could hardly look at her, mum...

Ok, so I love this forum and I have to be confident in what I know and believe even though the school couldn't diagnose him. Thank you everyone for the responses. Like I said, he's undiagnosed and one who knows nothing about aspergers wouldn't realize he has it, but would simply think he's slightly ...

I'm new to writing on these forums, but have known for yrs that DS is an aspie. Are there certain behaviors that should be encouraged to improve on? Affection, certain social skills, specific fears? For instance, giving affection. He's always backed into me for hugs and I've taught him to face me. H...

Thanks so much for your responses. The original post wasn't too far off from this one. I guess I'm wondering how to help him not misinterpret people (specifically girls), how to not feel so devastated with rejection and how to share with me (or someone safe/an adult) about his feelings. I found his ...

Sorry I deleted the entire post. I did it mainly because I don't want him to see it...though I don't know how he would. I'm definitely a little emotional right now and since I believe ds is an undiagnosed aspie, I thought maybe I could get some guidance here as to how to talk with him. Back story......

And let me just say the boy has serious social issues that I'm confident is Aspergers (I can give you a list of characteristics since birth if you like). Regardless....his inability to communicate in the way his peers do is causing some very serious self esteem issues.

Of course it's no one's business. Just desperate for help. Deleted only because I'd hate for him to see this. Guess I'll do some reading up. thanks

Ok, well, I'm not an Aspie (my son is), but I often wonder if I am! I say ridiculous things all the time. I've even lost friends and in those cases I can only think that I must've said something, but I have no idea what. Seriously. I should get diagnosed myself. Ugh. And the bolted up in bed later t...

Glad I found this forum. DS is an undiagnosed Aspie. We had him evaluated at the school a few years ago and they found nothing, however, we know he definitely has a mild form of it, but not mild enough that you can't see he's a little different. He could identify and say the alphabet at 18mo, could ...
