We do agree. Pulling one's own weight is good not only for society, but for the individual as well. Aye, I can only speak for myself so Ill admit I got a little carried away and misread some of the intentions of posts ( that's the problem with forums sometimes) :) . I guess I felt theLibrarian was ... |

The French revolution may not have been my strongest example, but it does show what happens when people feel cornered and do not have the ability to crawl out of the hole they feel that they are in. The PVV is gaining popularity because a lot of minorities ( former immigrants) combined with eastern ... |

As far as having a "functional social security system", you are only fooling yourself. Every welfare state in the West is due for collapse, and sooner rather than later. As far as being "simplistic" goes, since I'm not liberal enough to create my own reality, I have to rely on what the history book... |

If you had actually read any of my other posts you would have found out that I am from one of those countries that actually has a functioning social security system, and on top of that a fair healthcare system while still not being communists, but for people like you for whom even the slightest move... |

I agree the Netherlands is probably a superior system. But you also go to see a personal coach, which is a type of self-improvement. In America, we have the extreme individualist attitude that no one should tell us how to live. Even if we are a drain on ourselves and society. So it's a bit of a dif... |

First, you guys deported a lot of your unsavory citizens to South Africa two centuries ago. The white South Africans are the scum of the earth, which is why the Netherlands is such a great place. You literally deported all your scum. Unfortunately, America has attracted scum ever since Christopher ... |

Should people like you decide how much of their earnings they can keep? No. They decide by voting. That's why democracy doesn't work except with nearly pure capitalism. For social justice systems to work, you have to be able to separate voting from benefit programs. Otherwise, you get Detroit or Gr... |

Wanting a place to live * Wanting food to eat * Wanting a workplace that accommodates one's sensory and/or social needs/difficulties * Applying for or receiving disability income * Applying for or receiving food stamps What are the people who pay for these things entitled to? Should people like you... |

Everyone has his/her pace and for parents with autism its not really possible to stop and ponder over the current state of your life because your children demand you to keep moving, that doesn't mean parents with autism never take a hit or get depressed, but the consequences are far bigger when you ... |

Socially speaking high school because it completely trampled my self-image.
On a personal level post college when I had the worst depression in my life so far, which was kind of caused by my experiences during high school years. |

Weed/hash can indeed sometimes have a positive effect but be very wary of it, because they are somewhat of a mood enhancer so when you feel bad and you use it to feel good, it can also cause you too feel even worse and you'll be stuck with that feeling for a few hours, also the effects of stimuli ca... |

It's nice he reversed his opinion on it. I wonder how this will effect the opinions of other people. One thing that caught my mind is: "It doesn't have a high potential for abuse" I disagree. Any drug that has a highly valued use for recreation has high potential to be abused. However, I think abus... |

That's a tough subject and actually I think this just counts for all people in general and not so much NT's. I'd rather phrase it as "why are people sometimes annoyed with me or seem like they are?" I doubt you will ever find out unless you ask them very straight forward. Your question reminds me of... |

I don't think you ever can create the "thick skin" the way most people describe it. If you are a sensitive person this means you would have to create a artificial blockage in your mind, that stops the emotional part of what would normally hurt from entering your consciousness . In other words you wo... |
