That struggle that you have has haunted me as well and it still does and like you it creates feelings of jealously and self blame for me since I have always wanted for the right woman ( i'm a man) to come into my life and so it is likely that this is not unique for us with AS. I'm pretty sure that t... |

I'll admit I'm out of place in the NT world. It can be such a pain but I try to get through and with all these expectations as an adult it can be so hard. |

I think that autism is more personality than disorder. It is not a true disorder since that implies a major effect on all aspects of daily living. I have it too but it doesn't effect my daily life not one bit. A mental illness is something that can interfere with dailly living and not suprisingly I ... |

I'm beginning to question the neurotypical assumptions behind autism as being referred to as a disorder. To me I think autism or asperger's should be viewed as a personality trait instead of a disorder . I realized that just because we may not be able to socialize or empathize with other's people's ... |

NTs are so quick to blame it on autism; just because he probably didn't have any friends much less a girlfriend (which is the same in my case) doesn't mean he's autistic nor did it have anything to do with his killing spree. Rather the usual and often tiresome mainstream media are at least attributi... |

In my case it was about my brief period of denial as an aspie but fortunately that is no longer the case.
In this sense I have risen above internalized oppression about my asperger's. |

Sadly that's the ignorant NT response to your actions.
If it makes you feel any better, It happens to me more or less when I'm around NTs. |

As a matter, I'm an aspie and I drive too so yes you can. In fact, it is no different than any other activity. Once you practice any skill, you become a natural. Of course when it comes to practicing driving, your priority is becoming comfortable and that is an important priority. I recommend that y... |
