. . . I'm starting to feel crazy from all of this talking about myself. . . . I've been feeling loopy for a really long time, now. . . . BTW, I've been thinking about it more and talking to my dad about the malleability of memories and how state of mind reflects on recall, and I don't think my moth...

Maybe tomorrow. But maybe not. I think I will be taking a break from this site, so I may or may not be back tomorrow. I'm starting to feel crazy from all of this talking about myself. I know I can come to this site and just not talk about myself , but now that crazy feeling is kind of permeating the...

I had a really valuable conversation with my father today. We were talking about the issues and realizations that are coming out of my memory journaling project, and he was really happy to hear that I was doing that writing. I hadn't told him about it before. We don't talk often. He told me it's an ...

I have this problem where I either blame my mom for walking out on us as a result of her being a terrible parent who didn't want to deal with her autistic child, or I blame myself because I was unmanageable and a real pain to be around at that age. But at the end of the day, I'm a terrible person e...

I realized this week that I've been making a fatal error when it comes to job applications: I've been looking at job listings and thinking "Can I do this work and keep this job?" I should be thinking "Can I fake it for long enough to get this job?"

A psychologist who fits your personality CAN be very helpful, IF your problems are psychological in nature. Not all anxiety and depression has psychological causes, though. For example, I get anxiety from sensory overstimulation and no amount of talk therapy is going to help that, although I've foun...

A while back, I wrote some posts about how I was neglected in my childhood, and I said some mean things about my mom. Upon reflection, that was totally out of line. I don't think it's fair to say my mom was a bad mom who never cared; I think she was just in a situation that made dealing with a child...

I thought I didn't need Zoloft anymore. I don't know why I thought that, that was a silly thing to think. I started weening myself on July 18th and I had my last dose on August 4th; I think it's been long enough by now to know if I'm fine without it. I'm not fine without it, I just keep thinking I s...

You need to stop trying to be "normal" and to fit in with "normal" people. They're all faking it, too, they're just faking it more successfully. Normal is fakery; "normal" people just fake better. Everyone just wants to be like everyone else and to fit in, and it's done through fakery. People who do...
