Any one else ever have their teen pretend that people they are angry with don't exist? My son seems to hate his sister (I think he's jealous of her). She has never done anything to deserve the hate - has told him she hates his guts after he's treated her very poorly and tried to hit her when she wal...

He's not taking anything at this point. He decided he wanted to see if he could get used to the way he feels without meds so he didn't have to worry about taking them. Since he stopped taking Zoloft his compulsions are through the roof but he refuses to go back on them (or even admit they're an issu...

I think ultimately that's my fear. He will draw further into himself and never leave the house or be a functional person. I want him to get help before it's too late but it's such a battle when he won't discuss and doesn't want to admit anything's wrong. He's maintaining in his school subjects but o...

My son did not really enjoy tummy time, had issues with core strength and never crawled. He started walking around 14 mos. He had slow reflexes & when walking he would trip and wouldn't put his hands out fast enough. Most of his pictures before age 2 he has a bruise on his forehead. He's always ...

Thanks for your responses. For now my plan is to step back a bit and not push social activities or classes (more for my own sanity). He gets out at least a couple of times a week with the tutor & I guess that's better than nothing.

The change seemed to happen last year in spring. We did some med tweaking and his anxiety levels seemed to increase. He was taking Inositol at high doses to help with OCD and I dropped it down slightly because you're not supposed to stay there long term. We were also trying to working with a psych w...

My son will be 17 soon. He's being home-schooled this year at his request. I've posted previously that my once functioning, quirky kid now warrants an autism spectrum diagnosis (closer to PDD-NOS under old criteria). He's also been diagnosed at one time or another with Tourette's, OCD, ADHD, Depress...

Thanks for responses. I will talk to psych about this all being part of autism. I do think a lot of it is related although the tics and OCD seemed to come along when puberty hit. His autistic behaviors are much more amplified in the last year which is what concerns me - he always didn't quite meet t...

New here, my 16 yr old son just received official diagnosis that in addition to his Tourette's, OCD, ADHD, and learning disorder he has "a low to moderate autism spectrum disorder", he's also had mild depression which seems to be getting worse. Until he started high school 2 years ago my son's sympt...
