A person gets diagnosed with sensory processing disorder when they have the sensory issues but do not achieve the recommended scores for autism. If a person scores high on an autism test with sensory issues then they have autism with the encompassing feature of sensory integration disorder. It's lik... |

NPD ia a personality disorder, Aspergers is a developmental disorder. It is entirely possible to have NPD and Aspergers. Having an ASD does not define your personality. Indeed, it can help shape it. But it does not define your personality. NPD is an extreme form of some personality traits that happe... |

If you've been forced to buy a new car that you do not like, sell it and shop around for a car you do like. I understand the difficulty in acquiring a new car, especially since you used to drive your old car, not the car you purchased. I would honestly sell this one and acquire one you like. If your... |

When I first found out I had Aspergers, my sister went around treating me like I had just gotten cancer. Even I, myself, regressed a little due to the sudden shift in my understanding of myself. A diagnosis will help you understand a myriad of difficulties and differences that you have in comparison... |

So here is my story: I have been researching autism and Asperger syndrome. I think I am different from everyone else and I am not sure if what has happened to me (with regards to my brain) has ever happened to anyone else in the history of the world. Maybe that is an exaggeration, I am not sure. I ... |

I've been thinking about this subject for a while. Why is it that Aspies and Auties do not want to just pretend to have empathy? I don't necessarily mean 'acting NT' but rather why do we all just simply act 'perfect' when we are around other people? Also why do some people on the spectrum have an i... |

Prepare a script before you go. It will help keep your thoughts organized.
Worse comes to worse, write down everything and had notes to your doctor.
Try to keep calm during the doctor interview, anxiety will make it hard to get your point across.
Good luck! |

Direct him to asperger based material. If he finds a strong connection with it, then point him towards an assessor. Personally, I'd point him towards an assessor first. Many people research it then tell the assessor exactly what they've read and they get a diagnosis that might not fit them at all. |

Did you encounter any difficulties with the previous event locations? What kind of difficulties do you mean? I don't think that any of us who turned up had difficulties (other than finding the right gate at the Zoo but that's no biggy), but I couldn't say for sure... Sensory issues and such. I'm 21... |

I knew about Aspergers for a long time. My God-brother has it and four friends of mine whom I've al... |

I wanted to write a brief response I may respond again when I have more time as I'm about to go on a trip. It sounds like I need to invite him to things and give him plenty of notice. It also sounds like I need to be more accepting of his condition. It also sounds like he does not want to be made a... |
