But Cordova, TN, isn't a city. It's an area where the people there call it Cordova. In reality, about half of it is eaten up by Memphis and the other half unincorporated. In a few years, though, it will be all Memphis. I'm willing to bet Archmage is leaving to escape Memphis. I don't blame him! :D &...

I live in the U.S., but from my view it looks like the EU will strip the countries of the individualism that most value so highly. Not much more to say about it then.. A two hundred sixty five page constitution!? That's going to become HELLISH! All to do what took the U.S. Constitution only 11 page...

My perspective: "God" is the human concept of an intelligent, structuring force responsible, either..... What is an 'intelligent structuring force'? OK - how about "God is the human concept of a non-purely random force or series of events at work in shaping the universe" then? I think you're gettin...

One thing I'm surprised by is how stable the market has been lately. The market since 2003 hasn't been making the wild swings it made in 2000-2002. The last time we saw a one-day change of 2% or greater on the Dow was on June 16, 2003, when the market climbed from a previous close of 9,117.12 to clo...

I find that when I find a new subject I'm interested in, I can go through the beginner level of learning that subject pretty quickly. But when I arrive at the intermediate level of learning that subject, I get burned out and my learning of the subject becomes choppy and irregular. I find that it bec...

Nuh uh, that has quite a bit to do with the bill. That's an interesting point you make there. It's interesting that when Congress finished coming up with this bill, Bush left his vacation in Crawford, TX just an hour later to sign it. But on September 11th, he sat there in that classroom and didn't ...

Something seems wrong about this bill (S 686). It was signed by President Bush on Monday morning. Perhaps you can spot it: AN ACT For the relief of the parents of Theresa Marie Schiavo . Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, S...

It looks like TAFKASH wants to continue to engage in vitriol. However,

Moderator, may you please close this thread? It's become too one-sided. Perhaps in a week or so we can try reopening it again. But right now, it's just not working.

Okay. If TAFKASH does not get it at this point, then it would be futile to try to keep convincing him. I don't have a problem with humor; you just can't take your opponent's points out of context. Neither do I desire a flame war with him. I stop now. While i am slightly amused by this ongoing verbal...

I am not referring to the gun control position. I am referring to TAFKASH continuously putting up strawmen for his opponent's points. That's not OK. I want to debate with a gun control person who doesn't do that kind of stuff, but TAFKASH has been the only one here for the past 3 pages. i am sane - ...

Alas, you still don't get it. First, I must go to the obvious. Wikipedia is an encyclopedic website that has many different entries. Each one goes under the eye of many different people who each have the power to edit it. A list of past edits can be found in the History tab of each entry. TAFKASH tr...

I live in Cordova too! What grade are you in? You might be going to my school, Dexter Middle! Oops, i almos...

he failed to respond to others who made other good and strong arguments opposing gun control. OK fine - I'll quit my day job and spend all day mowing down gun nuts on these forums instead one-by-one then - would that make you happier? How are you going to compensate me for my loss of earning...
