See, that's what I'm afraid of. In my mind I'm reacting to it appropriately and smiling and whatnot, but my face clearly looks "off" somehow to others. Like, I know the issue is with my facial expression, but without seeing it I guess there's no way of knowing what I'm doing wrong. Maybe y... |

Just a bit of background, I'm a 21 year old female and I've suspected I'm on the autism spectrum for at least 5 years now, but I've never gotten a diagnosis. I think it runs in my family since my youngest brother has classical autism and my dad has said he had autism symptoms as a child. I'm pretty ... |

I just finished my freshman year of college and everyone is asking me what I want to do with my life. I'm telling people I want to do biomedical research, which is great because I'm interested in biology, my major is biochemistry, and I've already started doing undergraduate research. I'd love to be... |

Sometimes if I'm stressed out, or if I'm intensely concentrating on something, I'll find myself picking at my nails or even picking the skin off my lips. (I know, gross.) I've been trying to cut down on these habits, so I decided to always keep my nails painted to stop myself from picking at them. I... |

Yes, this is totally normal :) I had my first date at 15, and my first relationship at 18, but two of my close friends have still never been in a relationship and we're all 19 now. And they don't have Aspergers or anything. It's normal for some people to just not really get into dating until they're... |

I'm a 19 year old female and I have a new boyfriend. (My first "real" relationship after two that were awful and failed very quickly.) We got together only a week before the end of the school year, so we've been long distance for the past month. He'll be coming to visit me in a week or so. I'm getti... |

I kinda know what you mean lol. When I'm catching up with a TV show I really like online, sometimes when I know a good episode is coming up I delay watching it for days even though I really want to. Maybe you're like, subconsciously afraid that the really amazing thing you're anticipating will end u... |

Wow, I didn?t expect to get so many answers in one day! Thanks for the reassurance and explanations of things. I?m glad to hear you guys are doing better now compared to a rough start you may have had as children. I guess you all are right, there isn?t really a way to predict what someone will be li... |

Last year, I posted on this forum asking whether I had Asperger's or not, and people told me it sounded like I do have it. Now this year, my little brother (who is only 2 1/2 years old) got diagnosed with autism. Like, not even Asperger's but full-on autism. It makes me feel selfish for ever complai... |
