Andreger: Do you have anything that you enjoy doing? Try doing more of that in that case and just work for survival, don't buy any unnecessary stuff, live minimalistic so you can have more free time. Cultivate interests. Stay away from people if you don't feel like they contribute to your well being... |

You're not a bad person, you're just under a lot of pressure. When you feel trapped in a situation, it's hard to imagine you ever getting out of it, that's what makes you feel trapped. But all things in life are transient, things change, for the better and for the worse. Try to ride with the experie... |

You are, therefore you can think. Or not. You still are, either way. Or, from my point of view of course, I am, I can't know that you are. |

If it's someone you know, you might want to hug them (only if you're comfortable with it). You can start by putting a arm around their shoulders and see how they react. If they move in opposite direction, don't hug. If they move towards you, hug. They might start to cry even more when you hug them. ... |

I think it's overly dramatic to suggest that the OP should leave her bf because of this. It's not like his abusing her. It sounds like he's having melt downs and that is indeed related to having Asperger's. He probably has good qualities related to his Asperger's as well, and unrelated qualities, th... |

Alex913, I recognize myself in your story. I got my diagnosis 2,5 years ago, when I was 27, and the process of decision making was similar to yours. It wasn't until I read biographies written by autistic women that I fully accepted that I had Asperger's. Now, the psychiatrist thought it was obvious ... |

- Why do you have friends? Why do you need friends? What do you do with friends? I have friends to maintain a social aspect of this little drama I call my life. It wouldn't be too much of a drama if it was just me looking at the rain outside my window (that's just too peaceful). I don't need friend... |

I have very few friends (only two I consider good friends) and I'd really miss them if they'd disappear from my life. I used to belong to small social groups (many times it would be me and 3 more girls, sometimes I'd belong to multiple groups at the same time) when I was a teenager and later at the ... |

First of all, this is a guy OP's been dating for 4 months. It's a bit prematurely to be thinking about how it would be for her to spend the rest of her life with him. In any case I think she, as his girlfriend, knows him better than her mom or someone who's never even met him and are basing their as... |

Sensitivity. Others are open mindedness, honesty, humor and logical thinking. I think I just named me when I'm at my best :) I think mutual understanding is crucial for a successful relationship, and that comes a lot easier if you have some common ground. It doesn't necessarily have to manifest in t... |

I have no advice to give since I don´t know anything about the legal system in the US, but you seem to know what to do next. I just want to wish you the best in breaking free from your mother and living as independently as possible. |

I don't think you should invite her and her boyfriend to the movies, presuming that she has one. I don't see why you could't just ask her if she's single. It's a more direct approach but said with a smile and an appreciating look it's a good way to both find out if she's single and if she's interest... |
