Are you sure your not getting lost in your head? The forgetfulness makes it seem like thats it . It's a horrible coping device(forget its formal term),the next time it happens try to focus on what your mind is doing.I recently became aware I get lost in my head which is what causes information to co...

I can relate to this 100%, too.

I actually even had an employer tell me this once. And another boss who yelled at me because she said to push a certain button and I just didn't see it quickly enough--"I said push the green button!" Another time I was helping paint a porch and I had knocked something over without knowing...

Hello all, I haven't really posted on here before. I'm still very much getting to grips with what aspergers is and the different ways in which it affects people, and I was just wondering if anyone could relate to my situation. I take a really long time to process information. I'm not particularly un...

You've got a great voice. Great guitar work too, love the jazzy chords. And it's a great song! Top marks all round! :)

I know this probably gets mentioned quite a lot, but is there any chance there could be a mobile version of the forum? I'd like to browse the forums more regularly, but I can only really use my iPhone, which is a bit of a faff, and things like embedded YouTube videos won't load. Is there any way aro...

I really enjoy being romantic. I can just never think of things to do that we haven't done before, so end up not doing anything, or doing things that are cheesy or cliched...

Thank you all for the replies. :) My wife and I had a good chat with me this evening. She's still pissed at me but I think we managed to smooth things over, thank goodness! I have a surprise planned for her on Friday. Normally I suck at being romantic but I had a moment of inspiration with this one....

Again, thanks for your reply. The thing with my wife is, she wants to feel important. She feels very hurt that I haven't bothered to organise something that I know she wants to do, like she is at the bottom of the list. I guess she must feel like she's tried to help by giving me some pretty obvious ...

Thank you very much for the advice, BirdInFlight. I have been writing things down recently. My wife bought me a big wall planner for this very reason. The only problem is it's in my 'music room', which I'm only in once a week at the most. I do write things down on my phone - mostly things my wife an...

Yeah, I do struggle to focus on things I am not interested in. But it's knowing / remembering when to come out of lala fantasy land that I really struggle with! I actually enjoy it, when I get it right!

Would anyone have any advice on coming off autopilot?

Hello all, I am still very much learning what aspergers / autism is, and I'm going to try sharing some of my experiences... I'm not really sure where this post belongs, so apologies if it's in the wrong place! I'm currently sat here wondering why on earth I didn't think to plan to see any fireworks ...

Hello all, I'm Clive, 30 from Norwich, UK. I've recently discovered I'm very likely an aspie. A brief history... I've struggled with social anxiety for most of my life. At high school I was a selective mute. I pretty much spoke to no one other than teachers, and it was completely undiagnosed at the ...
