Hi Luke, I have mild aspergers, and just joined this group. I went to a social meeting, which was the Australian Tech Park Tour. Really nice people- wide age range. Have a look at the web site:

It seems that Aspergers (and ADD) are genetic, and carried on the fathers (Y) gene, and there is a gay gene carried on the Maternal (x) side. As such, I would think the two are not associated...

'Accused'?? Wrong word- I am proud to be gay, and an Aspie! No- I get mistaken for being straight at times, and was chased and bothered by girls at school- which makes it doubly difficult being gay, and aspergic (with ADD on top of that). Should anyone ask if I am gay in a negative or accusarory man...

I kinda identify with bears, and have found a few gay bear Aspies in Sydney, which is refreshing- as unfortunately a lot of our bears (Sydney Australia) tend to be obese b*****s (not butches) with nothing interesting to say...

I work in a small engineering office in Australia, which one would expect being about as straight as you would get. And yes it is (Im the only queer there), and they do not give a damn about it. They are the most intelligent, broad minded, and gay tolerant men I have ever had the pleasure of working...

I think the answer would lie in their respective etiology. I understand there is a genetic basis for both (including ADD, which tends to co-incide with Aspergers) The GAY gene seems to be carried in the mothers side (X chromosome), and Aspergers and ADD on the fathers (Y). I am not a geneticist, but...
