Could anybody give any stories about it? Would any of you mind if I made a case study out of it for my project?

I read that Aspies are more likely to suffer from depression. I certainly have suffered from it. I was often insulted by people and told that I was useless during my childhood. Needless to say, I had low self-esteem, hated myself, cried a lot, and was in general a very troubled child who often acted...

Hey guys, I'm doing s presentation on anime and manga for my french class, and I'm supposed to find answers to some questions about it. So basically, I'd like to know how watching anime and reading manga has affected you. For example: Have you adopted aspects of Japanese culture? Have you learned Ja...

I'm still in high school so I can understand. I was mostly a loner and stuck my nose in books. It changed in later grades when I started hanging out with other people who were just as strange as me. If by any chance you're trying to make friends, then I'd suggest you seek out people on the margins, ...

You could be borderline. Can you post the types of tests you have gone through and the scores? Then we'll know for sure. You should have got a copy of all the results. In my experience, there are lots of people who are borderline, and on bad days they feel more autistic and on good days they feel q...

Thanks for replying. I was starting to wonder if anybody would reply to my posts (even though it's only been a few minutes). I've been checking on them obsessively since I posted them, especially the one in the main section about my going to a psychologist. If it isn't too much trouble, could you r...

You did not say if the psychologist was experienced with diagnosing ASDs. I think the psychologist would be expecting you to display some dysfunction, and then deductively try to figure out what is wrong with you. However, it does not sound like you stated any dysfunction ? The psychologist might b...

I am very uncomfortable with the idea of going to a psychologist/psychiatrist and opening myself up to them. Makes me feel vulnerable and exposed.

I feel the same way about opening myself up to people in general, but it wouldn't harm you to try.

I've felt the same as you in certain times during my past. In fact, I still feel it sometimes though in a much more mild manner than the way you put it. One thing that helped me was reading lots of fiction where I could get lost in another person's world. Maybe you should try doing the same thing. I...

I thought I had Aspergers/Autism, but as the title says, she thinks that I don't have it. I first started researching Aspergers about a year ago, though I'm not quite sure how I started it. Eventually as I kept on researching, I realized that a lot of the symptoms describe me (ex. obsessive interest...

I've been lurking around these forums for about a year now, more or less, and I finally decided to join. When I read up on Aspergers, I realized that a lot of the symptoms are similar to the way I am. I'm kind of nervous about joining since it's been a long time since I've communicated in a forum, b...
