I'm another one studied Anthropology as I love the human story: where we came from, where we are and where we're heading; how we interpret the world around us and make sense of it. Whilst it's true that Anthropology isn't a vocational degree in the same way IT, Engineering, Law, etc is it does provi...

I was a tomboy growing up. My favourite toys were my He-Man figures by far. Also had Star Wars figures, Transformers, Big Trak, lots and lots and lots of plastic horses.

Don't have much to say in terms of advice but I do want to say that I find it hugely encouraging that fellow Aspies are looking to make a career in the field of psychology/counselling as this is where my career aspirations lie. I have wanted to be a counsellor for years and have completed a Foundati...

im pretty sure i have one and i say, it depends on what doctor is interviewing you. so yes if the doctor knows what to look for. Thanks. I've very recently been diagnosed by a clinical psychologist using this method and though I don't doubt their experience, I've just read so many accounts of peopl...

I've had a long-term love of English medieval history, but not sure I would want to live back then. The dreamer in me thinks this: I'm a futurist, so I feel that technology isn't evolved enough for me to accept this world as it is. So yes, I feel I was born before my time (in the wrong time period)....

I find the concept of God to be a product of man, and from a psychological standpoint the idea within the mind of a given person with the Idea of God inside their head alters the perception upon the world as it passes.. "God created man in his own image. And man, being a gentleman, returned the fav...

I totally get where you're coming from this. Make-up and the art of applying it has always been a total mystery to me. I grew up a tomboy so was never did the dressing-up girly phase and my mum did't wear much make-up so had noone around to show me either. As I got into my late teens I did put on a ...

I also pick my skin (which gets embarrassing when it bleeds) and I pace like a nutcase when I'm deep in thought. That's ...

A m the opposite problem in that Im TOO loyal and stayed in jobs long after I should have moved on. Loyalty is actually seen as a bad thing in work history believe it or not because the assumption is made you are lazy and unmotivated. I am happy with my present job and have great coworkers. Why sho...

So, today, I was driving to work and this guy was passing by - he seemed really nice looking up until the point where he stuck his (freakishly long) tongue out - it was a brief thing, the tongue just did this flick out and down, like a snake or a frog or something but it was soooooo gross, I actual...

Oh my sympathies are with you as we have the self-same issue with our AS son who will be 5 later this month. He slept soundly and happily in his own room from about 4 months old - 18 months old. Even if we were out he would fall asleep by 7pm and if at home we could put him in his cot awake and he w...

Falcor, thank you so much, and no worries, I took your wishes of good luck in earnest (another Aspie trait, hahahah)! I have wondered about going private so that there isn't as severe a wait -- my only hesitation is if I should ever have to avail myself of services for helping those on the spectrum...

Good luck with this (and I do not mean that in a sarcastic way). I am another one who has come to strongly suspect I have AS after I started researching it following my son's diagnosis in November. I know that this may not be an option for you but I made the decision to go private as I simply cannot...
