Hello, I am in the UK and wondered if anyone else who got an assessment here could tell me how long it took to get feedback/results? My assessment ended in September so I have now been waiting over 3 months. Is this normal? I have contacted the team twice, the last time around 6 weeks ago. They aske... |

Thanks for the replies! Dear Gizalba, If you have enough money you could also consider buying re-usable custom made ear plugs such as for instance ACS PRO . They will make a mold of your ears and you will get plugs that fit exactly. Those look pretty awesome, too expensive for me at the moment but i... |

Hello, I have problems with extreme anxiety around noise - the people I live with have the TV on very loud 24/7 (well it sounds horribly loud to me, although they seem to be deafer) which makes me cry as it becomes painful, and I have realised that when I have my earplugs in I am so much calmer and ... |

Thanks so much for all of these replies by the way! They are very much appreciated and helpful. I have read every one but got overwhelmed as for some of them I wanted to give a longer reply or some sympathy for what some of you have gone through, but couldn't decide on the words, then felt more guil... |

Hello, I wondered if anyone here is diagnosed with obsessive compulsive personality disorder (OCPD) and could tell me what is is like to have? (it is otherwise known as Anankastic personality disorder in the ICD-10). I hear OCPD is quite rare though, so if anyone with an OCD and ASD diagnosis wants ... |

I read in Tony Attwood's complete guide to Asperger's that Hans Asperger himself originally called Asperger's 'autistic personality disorder', which I found interesting. However with more research they re-labelled it, and today it is not classed as a personality disorder. I agree with those above wh... |

Hi, does anyone here have experience of having/having witnessed both of these disorders? If anyone does have a diagnosis of both, I wondered if you could answer the following: 1. What are your main ASD symptoms? 2. What are your main BPD symptoms? 3. How do you tell the difference between an autisti... |

Thanks for the link, I had not looked there. Thanks also for pointing out that a private diagnosis may not always be accepted in order to access services - I am already under the disability service in education for mental illness and I have heard there isn't much NHS support for adults with autism, ... |

Hello, I wondered if anyone knew of any private autism specialists in the north east, preferably who have experience in diagnosing females? I find the NHS a nightmare and can't seem to get a referral onto a waiting list to see an autism specialist, so I am now looking into private. However I am stru... |

Thanks for all the replies. Kiriae - I too feel sorry for my phones, I have indeed smashed up a few of them. I guess it is easy to stop a girl in a meltdown. You hold her firm and give her sensational kisses until she bites your face off and sends you flying through the nearest wall corrected for re... |

I like short guys, but only because I don't want them to be too much taller than myself, so seeing as I am 5'1" it just so happens that anything not too much taller than that is pretty short for a guy. It probably is true that most girls prefer a man taller than them, from observation, but it obviou... |

I agree with Skilpadde -at least that's what I do. I tend to give a lot of examples and explain things over and over to make sure everybody understands what I intend to say -hence the long texts to express only a little idea. This ;) Although I worry it irritates people and my boyfriend tell... |

I wondered if anyone else has/has had meltdowns which have had the potential to cause serious damage to themselves or others, or even property? And if so, has anything helped to reduce it? This is what happened to me in one of my recent meltdowns: http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a519/Gizallba/CI... |
