I fell off the balcony on the 40th floor and survived. |

Yes, and my mom always gets really mad at me because I can't find things that are right in my line of sight. Sometimes I will search the whole room for the missing item, and it ends up being on the floor or on the couch. |

Went on a ride-along in an actual police car with my dad! (he told me all I had to do was ask, and I'm glad I finally did.) |

Anyone else notice that?
Or is it just me?
Got that too, bumble. Might be a coincidence? |

I have a brother with AS, and we are very close. It helps that we share some obsessive interests and once we start talking, it's hard to stop. To others listening in on our conversations, we would appear completely insane. We have such a close relationship people think we are twins. My older sister ... |

I will happily communicate with my dad and brother, who both have AS. But as for other people, I just freeze. I don't know how to keep a conversation going if I'm not interested in the topic. I am working on it, though. Eye contact is still a little off, but I'm getting better. |

I suppose these slurs can be insulting, since they are referring to us in a negative manner. But I wouldn't mind much if I were you, some of these sites exist for the sole purpose of insulting other people. |

Thank you all for your replies. I am also terrible at phone conversations, and most of my conversations can be summed up to "Okay. Yeah. Sure. No. Bye."
Anyone else like this? It's good to know I am not the only one who can't hold a proper conversation about something I am not interested in. |

Thank you for the response.
I have tried pretending I'm interested, and I'm working on the eye contact, which is still hard for me. I'm going to try memorizing a part of the topic they are talking about and ask a question so they know I'm listening. Thanks for the suggestion! |

Hello, everyone. I'm new here, and joined because I felt like meeting more people that go through similar things as I do, but I haven't seen a thread about this topic yet. I don't know how to talk to people. I can only actually hold a conversation with people that are very close to me, and it seems ... |
