There was a programme on British tv about the Maudsley psychiatric hospital and the director, Dr Martin Baggaley, said that these types of 'intrusive thoughts' are part of normal experience - in fact he said he had them himself. When driving to work he sometimes has to stop at a crossing to let youn...

Yes, agree totally. The most loathsome hour of the week. I still feel the ghosts of it 40 yrs later - homework not done and (in Britain) TV that seemed to reflect the mood ie 'Songs of Praise' and 'Last of the Summer Wine'.

Children in high places - I actually knew I had this phobia when I volunteered to take a friend's
daughter on a helter skelter -

Gosh, I can relate to this. I tried match.com for a couple months and every single man said one of these things: "I love to travel" or "I plan to travel here" or "I want a driven woman" or "I love my career" or "I love an active lifestyle and want someone that does too". Yes, these are really good ...

Completely non-fiction - just about anything and everything. But have never managed a single chapter of fiction in my life - it just seems like a mad tangle of
words - and I've got no idea who is who or what is supposed to be going on.

Yes, it's great to tell people the movies you like. It was just my eye was caught by the word 'Dead' - as in 'Shaun of the Dead' - only a very subtle thing, but saying " I love Zombie films"
seems, instinctively, a bit better.

Really hope things go well for you

I'd recommend losing the references to films with violence - but good for you for taking advice - it's more than most people do - and, I think, when writing a dating profile , a little bit
of thought goes a long way.

I dread having to do a police photofit (ie describe how someone I've seen fleetingly, looks). I'd just make it up and they'd arrest totally the wrong person.

Being new to all this, I had no idea that there was a certain type of 'Aspie memory'. Occasionally, I can see somewhere on TV and immediately know which town/city it is - just from a few anonymous looking buildings or a handful of trees. But don't bother asking me to get a round of drinks, as I can ...

Hello everyone, I've plucked up the courage to join/post here after googling info on 'person obsessions'. A few contributors here that have experienced something similar and I'm very grateful to them for sharing, as I thought I was alone in the world. I am between professions, from running a small c...
