Hi there, The eagle eyed among you will have noticed that this is a replica of a post I made in the summer asking for male participants for some research. Because so many of you helpful people responded, I now need more female participants to redress the gender balance of participants. I PROMISE thi...

Hi all, Sorry for my extremely late response. Firstly, thank you all so much for participating so far. I have nearly 100 men and 100 women with autism who have participated now which is awesome, if anyone else would like to participate to boost number that would be wonderful. Naturalplastic, you're ...

Hi there, I was wondering if any guys might be able to help out with some research I'm doing. I posted about it previously here, and I think lots of women filled it out but fewer men. Thank you so much to everyone who has already done it- the wrong planet crew have definitely contributed massively t...

Thank you for completing it. I certainly won't exclude your data - it would be very unscientific of me to make assumptions about how people's minds work and manipulate my data to fit those assumptions!

Hi, I'm sorry to have been away for so long. Thank you to everyone who has been completing this, especially if you found it hard! Rdos, I've actually seen a paper which is along those lines, but I think the methodology is quite flawed so it would be well worth doing again! http://eric.ed.gov/?id=EJ9...

Hi, I completely agree about the extreme male brain theory, I think the gendered framework is unhelpful and that was a big motivating factor for this research! As for operationalising gender, the issue is that I'm interested in participants own conceptions and definitions of gender, and so deliberat...

Cyberdad: Yes we have! I can totally understand the rationale behind giving more information to participants, but I would worry in this project if it would impact on people's responses, due to priming the importance of different identities right before participating. Binaryodes: I totally agree, we ...

Hey cyberdad, thanks for completing the questionnaires! I guess the ethics over here in the UK are a bit different - they tend to be happy if you leave your contact details for people to get in touch. I will PM you with a more comprehensive rationale for the research. Thanks to everyone who has been...

I totally see your point and this is something other people have commented on. I suppose what I'm looking for is how masculine you would describe yourself based on your own conception of what masculinity is - whether or not you feel that conception fits with the mainstream one. And I think that poin...
