From what you've said I think you either don't have it or if you do, it's very mild. You said you don't have many social issues, and the Block Design is usually one of the weakest subtest for NLDers and yet you scored above average. Furthermore, your performance IQ itself is solidly average and none...

I'm wondering if anyone with NLD or AS has tried this. I just finished Vision Therapy, it took 5 months and I went about 3-4 times a week. The doctor said I had severe convergence insufficiency, exophoria (one eye pops out when looking in) and that I was suppressing a lot (my brain shuts off informa...

Hell, people at AA will try to tell you that alcoholism is a gift because you get the opportunity to "heal" others. It's a load of horses**t.

No, it's not a gift. That's just something people like Grandin tell themselves as a form of consolation. In reality, the academic achievements of autistic people are usually done in spite of, not because of autism, unless they have highly unusual savant skills. Even more so, it's not even a consola...

It's very real but the grass is always greener on the other side, as cliché as it sounds. When I get down on myself a lot I think about how sh*tty my NVLD is but at the end of the day it isn't productive or helpful. Everyone's got something that brings them down.

One is the result of a statistically unreliable test and the other is a condition that has been researched extensively but no longer "exists" officially.

This is a good link if you'd like to find a difference between NLD and AS. http://www.nldline.com/yvonna.htm I have a 30 point gap between my verbal and performance IQ, with a very superior verbal score and average performance IQ. Within performance IQ I scored in the very superior range on the Matr...

NLDer here and very good at abstract thinking and pattern recognition. It's mostly concrete and visual thinking that I suck at. My Fluid Reasoning is in the gifted range while Visual Spatial is dull normal. As for research into it, I've seen mostly mixed results. Autistics usually do well on the Rav...

It's not as big of a deal as you think it is. Many people in college are like that- attractive people who are not even on the spectrum.

All the above are good ways to learn conversational skills. Also, not to discredit your diagnosis or imply that you don't have the disorder, but poor conversational skills aren't always an indicator of BAP.

All I can say is that all these tests sound kinda terrifying... Super interesting but as soon as you tell me it's any kinda test my brain melts and all I can do is panic ahahah. I deliberately removed direct tests from our interview process at work because I am one of the top programmers in our com...

It's possible but I doubt it OP, full-blown autism would be noticeable at a very young age. It's more likely you have something like an anxiety disorder, attention problem, or a learning disorder, etc.
