A quite useful guide about how to understand body language.

It was exactly the opposite for me. I was diagnosed as gifted as a child, but nobody ever suspected that what I had Asperger's. Every quirk was regarded to as a "symptom" of giftedness and nobody seemed to worry. The point is, I am not gifted. I know I have an above average IQ, but I don't think tha...

That happens to me, too. I don't have much trouble in talking with one or maybe two persons, but if there are more I just can't say anything, so I just stay there, silent, listening to the rest. Conversation doesn't come out naturally; I don't feel the need to take part in the conversation, although...

31/36, which is above average. That has led me to think that, maybe, the problem with ASD is not "being unable to read body language" but rather "not being able to use that information in our social life". :?:

For me, having to look at somebody in the eye and, at the same time, listen to what they say is simply "too much information I can't process". I have to concentrate in one of the two things, or else I'm completely unable to follow a normal conversation.

Not long ago I was at work and someone asked me, "Do you usually hum to yourself while working?" I didn't know what she was talking about until I realized that, when I try to concentrate (which is difficult, since I have both Asperger and ADHD) I do exactly that. I hadn't noticed before! I don't kno...

I agree with Skilpadde -at least that's what I do. I tend to give a lot of examples and explain things over and over to make sure everybody understands what I intend to say -hence the long texts to express only a little idea.

I write fairly well and I know I can write long texts easily... but I have nothing to say. I haven't written anything in years -outside of posts in forums and such- because I don't know what to write about. :?

I haven't had any "special interest" for a long time. I mean, I play videogames or surf the internet for hours, but I'm not passionate about that the same way I was about a particular TV show or whatever when I was younger. I thought it was because of being older now, but maybe it has something to d...

Yes, I was raised in the region of Castilla La Mancha, so Catalonia has always been at a longer drive from home than Madrid. ;) About that bull, it's known as "el toro de Osborne" (the Osborne bull). Originally it was an advertising board for the Osborne "Veterano" brandy and you could find them nea...

It *can* get better, indeed, as you learn new ways to deal with most of life situations. Although how better it gets depends on many factors -physical health, having (or not having) a job, etc.

@kraftiekortie, I was raised in central Spain and I have only visited Catalonia a couple of times -I stayed in Barcelona and in Tortosa. I don't speak Catalan, but if I'm spoken to slowly I understand it, since it's similar to Castilian Spanish -and to Occitan, a language which is spoken in certain ...

I have the usual accent of the region where I was raised, but I sometimes tend to speak too fast and softly and that makes harder for other people to understand me. It's like if I was talking under a blanket. When I'm aware that I'm doing that I immediatly correct it, but sometimes I have to be told...
