| I dislike having to engage (or overhear) chit-chat related to football/soccer, unless my father and brother talk about it. They manage to draw out some humour from what is an otherwise arid, fatuous and over-esteemed subject. |

| 90 % of the atheists I've met, are rude this way. Galileo Galliei was said to have been so too. Although one can doubt wether he was an atheist, he did criticise the Church, and was nearly sentenced to burn on the stake. Actually, I think Galileo Galilei deserved such a fate, if he had been as rude... |

| It's called "Auditory Processing Disorder" [ Wikipedia link ], and is somewhat common with us Aspies. I have it too, and whenever someone jokingly mentions a hearing aid, I tell them it's not a problem with volume, but with distinction. One on one I do fine, but if there's too much background noise... |
