I'm not a savant. I do have unusual talents though. For example, I once tuned a guitar by humming the note the string should play and then tuning the string to match my voice. I was surprised when my dad made a big deal about it, because I thought everyone could do that. Maybe I have perfect pitch? ... |

Yes! I'm a girl, but when I was younger, I was interested in "guy" things (trains, dinosaurs, ect), and refused to wear skinny jeans (too tight, itchy, ect). Partway through middle school, I became really depressed and lonely, so I decided to pursue more "girly" interests, at least some of the time,... |

Huh, this is interesting. I don't think it applies to me though. My main sensitivity is sound, and my other, though less severe one, is touch. While I am talented musically, which would relate to sound, I am also good at visual learning. Like in school, I learn best through reading things, whereas I... |

That's no fun :( I get that sometimes when I am stressed out for long periods of time. I know tics can be caused by different things, but if you only notice it when you are stressed, I would look for ways to reduce or cope with stress. For example, cutting back on a stressful activity would reduce s... |

I am a female who was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome at age four. Since kindergarten, I have constantly been taught social skills by various school speech teachers, counselors, and psychologists. Due to this, my social skills have improved greatly over time. You think I would be happy now, right... |

Thanks MakaylaTheAspie! My stepbrother worked for I think UPS or FedEx, and didn't have the best experience, but maybe that was just due to the particular building he worked at. I'll have to look into that. Thanks! |

MissDorkness: Thanks for the part-time job ideas! Also, for your later post about writing. I am still trying to figure out if I could do something with writing or not, but blogging sounds helpful if I do. arielhawksquill: Being a library assistant sounds great! I don't know how I didn't think of tha... |

I know, right! I don't have any friends or family members who are physically handicapped, so I don't know for sure, but from my point of view, that would be easier. I mean, I'm sure being physically handicapped isn't fun, but at least everyone can see that, whereas with mental differences, people ha... |

Yes! When I was stressing out over community college and my part-time job, I became obsessed with superheroes. I would watch and re-watch a bunch of superhero movies to cheer myself up. |

I feel the same way! I've had some part-time jobs, but none of them worked out well, and now I can't find another one. So, I'm not the best person to ask for job advice. :? However, something that might help is to focus on positives. Have you had any jobs before? That's an accomplishment. :) If you ... |

THAT'S LIKE WHAT I DID! Only instead of locking myself out, it was spilling cleaning fluid. When I used to work at a fast food place, I had to use this bucket full of a cleaning product, and spilled it all over the floor TWICE in one day! My boss got angry the second time, and I worried I would get ... |

Hi, so I was wondering two things: 1: What career do you think I should go into, and 2: Where can I find an Asperger-friendly part-time job? I am interested in science-related things, but I am terrible at math, physics, and chemistry. Biology is the only science class I do well in. Also, most of my ... |
