I also have another question that I wanna ask. I figure asking it here is easier than making a sepatate post. What's the deal with functioning labels? From what I encounter online, it seems that they are generally hated and their use strongly discouraged. The definition of "functioning" is...

Maybe it's just because it is change. I have a lot of trouble with change. When I think things are one way and then things change to a different way, I have a lot of trouble with that. Not about the qualities of the thing that changed, but that a change happened at all. This could be part of it tha...

I am sure that I will end up wording this incorrectly since my brain is exhausted from spending so much time trying to sort through my thoughts. I accepted my Aspergers diagnosis within the first few months after my (ex)therapist talked to me about it. That process was filled with back-and-forth thi...

I had a last minute therapy session today due to an opening in her schedule made by a cancellation. Initially, I was glad to be able to have an extra therapy session this week, however, news wise, it was the worst therapy session I've had in a year. She is changing jobs, working about 20-30 minutes ...

Sometimes people forget that using an illistration to make a point isn't always the best way to explain something to an aspie. Your natural response was to compare the situations side by side like a spot the difference puzzle, but she was only comparing a tiny part of the picutre. I think that she ...

I just got home from a therapy appointment in which I was made very frustrated. We were talking about how even though I'm accepted in my group of friends, I'm still clearly different among the group and even sometimes treated as such. She tried to compare my experience in the group - being viewed an...

Read DUNE by Frank Herbert. It gets to a point where you have to think about every line to truly appreciate the story.

I can't concentrate enough to read right now and I also dislike fiction. The only fiction I usually read is Dostoevsky but I can't even enjoy one of his books right now.

I'm feeling the desire to talk to someone because of how upset I am, but at the same time, I feel too upset to actually talk to anyone? I am guessing that this is not an uncommon feeling to experience. Has anyone here found themselves unable to concentrate enough to indulge in their special interest...

Many therapists (according to my current and old therapist) suggest masturbation as a way of relieving anxiety (momentarily) and feeling a bit happy (right word? idk). So it is totally okay to use it for that type of thing. I just asked my therapist if there is a "too much" when it comes to masturba...

I hate it. It just makes me angry. It's so dumb - the exercises she has had me do are stupid anyway. I've done some before with my last therapist and they weren't helpful at all. We aren't going to do DBT anymore. I forgot what we are moving on to.

I've not had any romantic relationships and I've had no desire to have one. I like mastubartion a lot, but I think a lot of the feelings and urges I have all come from my brain. I actually may be having sexual desire without realizing it because I'm not good at being mindful of my body. I think we a...

My therapist had suggested it about a month ago as a means by which I could fix boredom and feel more relaxed (I have bad anxiety). I wasn't too crazy about the idea at first, but as we talked about it during the following weeks, I decided it was worth a try. Initially, perhaps because I had convinc...

During my therapy session last Thursday, I had a meltdown of sorts, which I was made to talk about in this morning's session. It was a change in my routine/schedule/plan that pushed me to the point of not being able to cope with it "normally." My therapist got me 15 minutes late which made it to whe...
