Do you hit your computer?

I sometimes hit my computer, but it rarely freezes, and it never overheats, so I rarely feel like beating it up. I used to hit my old computer, but sometimes when I did, it got back at me by restarting.

Some statistics:

50% of all people in Spain hits their computer.
20% of all people in Spain cry of frustration about their computer.

I hit my laptop once because i got mad at how slow it was getting and it rebooted on me and then told me the Operating system could not be found. I ended up buying a new faster laptop.

Expensive lesson learned.

No, I pet it gently and whisper sweet nothings to it. I believe in positive reinforcement, no sense in pissing off the gremlins.

from slamming the mouse down i have broken a lot of mice, not recently though because this system does not give me any grief

My computer is too expensive for me to hit it.

Yes, I learnt an expensive lesson when I smashed the keyboard on my laptop with my fist. I think I cracked the motherboard. I bought a desktop PC after that

I've had to use percussive maintenance before. It really doesn't worry me, since I don't do it in such a manner that it will cost me large sums of money...

my dad does just that, last time he had a periferal problem, he broke the glass of a scanner ripped out the scanner bar and beat the living guts out of the scanner with the scanning bar.

the cause of problem, the software, it didnt want to send a fax or scan in color and clearly.

he has broke a number of mice from slamming them down AND against the lcd screen.

last time he was unhappy with tech was about 2 months ago, hes jealus because my laptop dont break down or have any software problems, all he does is unplug it thinking i care more about my online chat buddies then with his problem (usually is corrected by clicking the right link on a webpage)

I do but not very hard or on a laptop computer. Mainly i hit computers when i trying to update them [Gateway Website or Adobe Website.] and its not responding.

I did once. I ended up with a damaged LCD screen and a huge bill. So that tends to moderate my temper somewhat and make me see sense.

I just curse and threaten it with defenestration.

I have broken a flat screen monitor by throwing a heavy metal projectile at it; smashed three keyboards and a Laptop, the latter by hurling it at a wall. The remaining computers shudder in fear when I enter the room.

Only when I'm seeing no solution to my problem. Then I bang the mouse and bash the keyboard.

I do when I'm getting slow results. I've torn up my keyboard over it - a few keys are now detached.

I've also broken a few television remotes in half.

Now I feel bad about myself.
