I hate them both. I like Media Player Classic because its simple with no nags.

Realplayer is evil. It's basically like a virus. Avoid it at all costs.

I suddenly realised... and voted for RealPlayer.

Given the choice between just those two media players, obviously I prefer RealPlayer, as I don't use Windows.

As it happens, I don't use the RealPlayer player, either. I have it installed just so the plugins are conveniently there. I'm pretty sure I could do that better.

I have this strange aversion - I don't like bloatware.

Realplayer is the definition of bloatware. Actually, it's more like malware.

I dont like real player so I use Windows Media Player.

I also dont like Winamp and Quicktime because they give me problems and I am sure updating quicktime has ruined the video I see now on all but Quicktime playing all video very dark.

I use Media Player Classic mostly now because it is the only one that still works perfectly without looking dark and I can use it to look at incomplete downloads.

I usually use MediaPlayer Classic with the ffdshow codec and it plays everything even .mkv files. I watch most videos using my Xbox 360 and an external HD so I guess I do use WindowsMediaPlayer.

When in doubt, ask an autistic. Chances are, they're obsessed with what you need to know.

Windows Media Player for the vast majority of media, I only installed realplayer because it can download and play .flv files, but indeed it it a bloated piece of crap

I use VLC to play DVDs on both my DVD capable machines (lappy and coolblue)

They both work about the same, but my next computer will be an iMac, which I will get during Spring Break.

Definitely mplayer (on GNU/Linux). It plays just about anything and is very comfortable to use (command line interface, nice shortcuts etc.). I just love it. ;]
