Recently (2 days ago?) I mentioned some new technology that solves the problem
of getting sued by certain really big evil companies that are going out of business.

Then the internet seriously broke. I had to fix some (lots of) things.
Does WP know the details of what happened? Did nothing happen?

eff.org is there to help defend our freedom and property and technology from
big bad evil companies that break in and hack and have been turning the
internet into a spam fest and trying to take it over and make it into an idiocracy.
I won't name their names again because I or we shouldn't have to clean up a mess
just for the sake of free speech. But these days they are just another Enron
or Madoff. Enough PCs of junk!
WE NEED TO CHEER AS THE BIG FAT CROOKS GO OUT OF BUSINESS.

16 years ago, they had not yet even started messing it up!
Things worked GREAT then!

I was concerned about WP because I could access only other sites for a while
after it started to happen and wondered if WP was also DDoS'd down,
perhaps in response to a syndication of some kind or if it was more local
such as the ISP, which seems less likely unless it was just a coincidence.

The technology that they want to kill hasn't been online here since
2005 when they first attacked it with obvious intent, but they do illegal things
to try to find it. They can go bankrupt searching for it. Like when the phone
companies paid too much for worthless frequencies. Just realize they are trying
to buy the internet to ruin it, the way they ruined analog TV, and made everyone
else including the stations pay for new TVs that they have total control over.
The way some people have to keep buying worse versions of Windows.
Futile! If they ruin everything, only everything that they hate will still work.

We could all make wind up recording devices that make and play "groovy" CDs.

A DDoS attack isn't hacking.

If anything, it was probably a band of trolls. Take that tinfoil hat off.

Well, actually, it was WP changing servers is why it was down, then it went down again on Friday (my time PST) night. We have been having glitches in members posting that are being discussed in the WrongPlanet.net discussion forum if you would like to check out what is going on with others, ValSmith.

Don't take offense but only those who work at Microsoft and buy their products
think it is OK to break and enter someone's personal property and destroy it.
Hacking means more than one thing, and I'm talking about their evil kind.

I am not destroying music. RIAA did that. Now it is no longer in their control
if it ever was. It is now or will soon be easy to create your own without copying
theirs, even if you like theirs, you can make your own that you like BETTER.

RIAA doesn't rob the singing birds. RIAA cannot take away the new instrument
It doesn't make recordings yet can play forever. It doesn't copy or download.
It is none of their business because they don't have any business anymore.

Imagine if someone who used to make horse carriages tried to get rid of
cars and planes and trains and bicycles and boats and space ships. Ridiculous!

I'm very glad it was a coincidence (server upgrade) and WP wasn't attacked too.

there are (to coin a phrase) billions and billions of sites out there. The chance you were targeted specifically is pretty small.

To be targeted generally, would be more likely. As they say on the battlefront 'it's not the bullet with your name on it you have to worry about, it's the one marked 'to whom it may concern'...

Coincidence? Or are we both paranoid?
