Well... it depends, really. Is it a flash game, or a MMORPG like Eve or WoW? If it's a flash game, it's probably just RAM usage; you should close other programs and limit your browser. If it's an MMORPG... it could be the connection, as WiFi isn't perfect. But I'm fairly certain that Eve ran slowly for me due to graphics processing issues. I have a decent chip, but it's still a laptop.

Could be various things. One on the top of my head is that your computer is aging. Many people with older SiS, Via Video Chipsets and older AMD Processors have trouble with flash. Hence I can't use my 475MHz AMD K6 to watch a Youtube Video. If your stuck with an older AMD below 700MHz your SOL.

Oh it could also be your system resource usage or you could be using crappy trident based web browsers like Internet Exploder or AOL. If you have a bunch of bloat on your computer like Norton or McAfee and have a bunch of programs that startup when you start Windows. I would would use CCleaner to make it were not so many programs start up when your computer loads up.

www.ccleaner.com

Oh and downloading the newest Flash Player should also help.

Your computer probably needs a big cleanup. CCleaner is a great start. I would also ditch your bloated AV program and get a freebie like Avira or Avast. Works the same as McAfee and doesn't slow the computer

It is probably a flash plugin. What is your CPU usage while playing the video?

I agree with that 100 percent. I hate Flash.

YouTube I think is doing HTML-5 trials now. I am so glad they are working to get rid of Flash.

Is the video being streamed from the router?
Does the video buffer ahead easily, or does the video catch up quickly?
How many people are using the line? (Xbox/PS3/Laptops/etc)
Is the router secure?

How much RAM do you have?
Do you have loads of icons in the system tray?
What size is the hard drive? How much free space do you have?
What type of processor do you have?
What operating system are you using?
What graphics chip/card do you have (if known)? It has become a factor in some of the modern videos to use features of the card, or the card to deal with the video properly

Are you running multiple applications at the same time? ie media player, picture viewer, document reader, ie adobe acrobat reader, etc.

Until recently I had great trouble on youtube video with a 1200MHZ and 512 Mo RAM computer. I could go around it by downloading the videos through Real Player and then reading them on GOM Player. The colors were weird though. :?
I don't have problems anymore with my 1.8 GHZ and 1024 Mo RAM computer. :D

Have you tried closing down p2p programs like limewire? Because programs like this can get to the point where the internet slows down completely, my internet is like that aswell and my broadband was suppose to 15Megs and we are only getting 7 out of it... UGH british broadband!

Make you that all the wires are fitted in correctly on your router because it can also affect the speed and the stability at times.

Try downloading TCP Optimizer and put it at the highest connection possible and tweak it, situations like this does occasionally work, however don't worry, you can however you can restore the settings.

Have you got more than one computer or devices running on the same wifi? Turn off the devices wifi, turn them on till necessary.

Hopefully this problem should be solved.
