Silence is good.

But things like

I can't program without listening to dubstep... (Sometimes rock dubstep mix) .... It just feels like the computer is all excited about me programming it another part >.<

Silence.

However, if there is something I've got to code (for a living) that doesn't motivate my interest then I play some classical music. It helps to focus my mind enough to get into the mood for coding.

I work for a global IT company, and right now I find Pink Floyd's "welcome to the machine" irresistible. Can't think why 8O

I can also listen to an album looped all day long.

I like violin a lot, and all that strings. I like repetitive music.
I listen to Steve Reich a lot, John Zorn, Brian Eno, Philipp Glass, Kronos Quartet,
Malher, Satie...

In the morning I sometimes cheer me up with some punk/rock/fusion tracks (Dinosaur Jr, Uk Subs, Suicidal Tendencies, Faith No More..)

When in need of debugging/solving a problem I usually play some big beats/techno records (Spiral Tribe, Fluke, Chemical Brothers...) or Drum'n'Bass (Metalheadz, Squarepusher, Roni Size...)

Otherwise, well I listen to almost everything ;-)
